Evaluation of the Intrinsic Pathway of Coagulation in a Sample of Iraqi Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
...Show More Authors

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the most common diagnoses in hospitalized patients. Increased plasma hemostatic markers were noted in acute myocardial infarction, indicating that the blood coagulation system is highly activated in those patients. Aims of the study: To study the level of intrinsic coagulation factors including (FVIII:C, FIX:C ,FXI:C ,FXII:C ) in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Type of the study: Cross –sectional study. Methods: Thirty patients (their age range is 48-68 years) were included in this study (9 female, 21 male) who were just admitted to the coronary care unit in AL-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital and diagnosed as having acute myocardial infarction patients, blood samples were taken from those patients . Twenty healthy subjects (6 female, 14 male) age and sex matched with the patients were included as a control group. The following investigations were done for both groups: 1.Packed cell volume(PCV%) .by microhaematocrit method. 2.FVIII:C assay. [ by parallel line bioassay of coagulationfactors]. 3.FIX:C assay. 4.FXI:C assay. 5.FXII:C assay. Results Mean FVIII:C (162.63%±17.22)was significantly (P value< 0.05)higher in patients with acute myocardial infarction than control group(94.70%±9.34).1-Mean FIX:C (151.20%±14.20) was significantly (P value <0.05) higher in acute myocardial infarction group than control group(94.10±8.51). 2-Mean FXI:C (146.30%±7.87) was significantly (P value <0.05) higher in acute myocardial infarction group than control group (102.00%±7.91). 3-Mean FXII:C(71.03±11.46) was significantly (P value <0.05) lower in acute myocardial infarction group than control group (119.00%±8.52). 4-There is inverse relationship between FXI:C and FXII:C in acute myocardial infarction group(P value -0.736). Conclusions Patients with acute myocardial infarction had significantly higher levels of FVIII:C,FIX:C,FXI:C than controls. FXII:C level was significantly lower in patients with acute myocardial infarction than control group. There is an inverse relationship between FXI:C and F XII:C in patients with acute myocardial infarction.

STUDY ON ABILITY OF PROTEUS MIRABILIS ISOLATED FROM BURNS AND WOUNDS INFECTIONS TO BIOFILM FORMATION AND DETECTION URE C GENE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCE UREASE ENZYME
...Show More Authors

A total of 200 clinical samples included Burns and Wounds infections were collected from Baghdad Governorate. Results showed that rate all isolates of P. mirabilis was 31(15.5%) and rate of Burns infections was 14 (45%) and rate of wounds infection 17 (55%). Where was diagnostic based on conventional biochemical tests and confirmed by the Vitek-2 Compact system and the specific primer of the16SrRNA gene, the ability of bacterial isolates to biofilm formation to be studied. It's considered an important virulence factor in Incidence of diseases and play important role in increasing resistance to antibiotic of encased bacteria, by two methods Congo Red Agar method and Microtiter Plate method. The Congo Red Agar method showed that most isolates

Experimental Study of Spatial Self-Phase Modulation (SSPM) Based on Laser Beam and Hybrid Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes/Silver Nanoparticles (F-Mwcnts/Ag-Nps) Acetone Suspensions
...Show More Authors

Focusing of Gaussian laser beam through nonlinear media can induce spatial self- phase modulation which forms a far field intensity pattern of concentric rings. The nonlinear refractive index change of material depends on the number of pattern rings. In this paper, a formation of tunable nonlinear refractive index change of hybrid functionalized carbon nanotubes/silver nanoparticles acetone suspensions (F-MWCNTs/Ag-NPs) at weight mixing ratio of 1:3 and volume fraction of 6x10-6 , 9x10-6 , and 18x10-6 using laser beam at wavelength of 473nm was investigated experimentally. The results showed that tunable nonlinear refractive indices were obtained and increasing of incident laser power density led to increase the nonlinear refractive inde

Investigating Adverbs' in Vatan yahut Silistre by Namik Kemal: Namık Kemal'ın ''Vatan Yahut Silistre'' Başlıklı Tiyatrosu'nda Geçen Zarfların İncelenmesi
...Show More Authors

It is a common Knowledge that adverbs in Turkish languages can modify verbs, adjectives, nouns or other adverbs. Moreover, adverbs can determine the meanings of nouns and verbs in a sentence as far as time, place, manner, quantity and interrogative are concerned. The present study debates adverbs’ functions in Namiq Kamal’s play Vatan yahut Silistre.

The study sheds light on the author’s use of the adverbs to describe the required theatrical actions of the play  and to convey his reflections and thoughts easily to the auidence. One of the main hindrances encountered in conducting the study is the shortage of the  upto date academic resources necessary for

Summery<p>This research includes description of the x-ray diffraction, morphology and sensing measurements of SnO2 doped In2O3 thin films synthesized by pulsed laser deposition method on glass and silicon wafer substrates. In2O3:SnO2 powders were obtained by mixing In2O3 with SnO2 in the desired ratio, and calcination the at temperature 1273 K for 5 hours. SnO2 doped In2O3 thin films with different ratios (0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, and 0.09% wt.) were prepared using pulsed laser deposition method. Unplanned Urbanization and Agricultural Land Degradation in Baghdad City from 2003 to 2017: احمد عباس كاظم , ليث زيد عباس
...Show More Authors

Several problems have emerged as a result of urban expansion or the connection of urban areas with rural areas. This process has led to the urbanization of rural areas, and to have overlapping edges and margins of areas, which were outside the basic design of the city. Accordingly, the present research assumes that the accelerating growth of Baghdad population has contributed significantly to the process of unplanned urbanization. Thus, the study aims to examine the factors that have led to an increase of urban sprawl at the expense of the agricultural land. The study has thus adopted the descriptive, analytical, and historical approaches relying on the simple linear regression method to predict the phenomenon of urban expansion and its

Background: Breast cancer has become one of the most predominant health risks among women and its mass death rate has continued to escalate world over. New data indicate that breast cancer may be modification by lifestyle factors, especially diet. Lactobacillus and Lactococcus type of probiotics have been identified to cure or promote health by regulation of the immune mechanism. Such bacteria are frequently found in healthy breast tissue and they could possibly help prevent breast cancer. Combining with a well established probiotic, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus has proved to have immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects, therefore, it should be a prospective probiotic strain to maintain breast health.
