Cancer remains a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Advances in cancer therapies—including immunotherapies (e.g., checkpoint inhibitors, gene-targeted therapies), antibody-based cancer toxins, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery—have significantly improved survival rates 1,2. However, this progress has led to a surge in the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) among cancer survivors, now recognised as a leading cause of mortality in this population 3,4. These intersecting burdens highlight the growing need to prevent, detect, and manage cardiovascular complications in cancer care pathways and call for important initiatives in establishing cardio-oncology services globally.

This work describes the development of new spectrophotometric techniques for 3-aminophenol assessment. The first technique involves using benzidine in an alkaline solution to convert 3-aminophenol into a colored complex. The produced complex has a red color with an absorbance of 462 nm. Between the concentration range 5–14 μg mL−1, Beer's law is obeyed with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.99781, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.0423 μg mL−1, and a limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.1411 μg mL−1. Our aim from this study is to establish a new assay for the quantitative determination of mefenamic acid (MFA) in the pharmaceutical sample by two sensitive and rapid flow injection-fluorometric methods. A simple and rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of sulphite SO3-2 is described. The method is based on the rapid reduction of known amount of chromate CrO4-2 in the presence of sulphite in acidic medium of 2N H2SO4. The amount of excess of chromate was measured after it reactions with 1,5-diphenylcarbazide which finally gives a pink-violet, water soluble and stable complex, which exhibit a maximum absorption at 542 nm.
