Assessment of efficacy and safety of dapsone gel 5% in the treatment of acne vulgaris
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACTBackground : Acne vulgaris is a
common skin disease, affecting more than 85% of
adolescents and often continuing into adulthood.
People between 11 and 30 years of age and up to
5% of older adults. For most patients acne remains
a nuisance with occasional flares of unsightly
comedones, pustules and nodules. For other less
fortunate persons, the sever inflammatory response
to Propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes) results in
permanent
Methods: Disfiguring scars. (1, 2) Stigmata of sever
acne cane lead to social ostracism, withdrawal
from society and severe psychologic
depression (1-4).
Result Pathogenesis of acne Traditionally, acne
has been thought of as a multifactorial disease of
the folliculosebaceous unit, involving excess
sebum production, abnormal follicular
hyperkeratinization, overgrowth of
Propionibacterium acnes, and inflammation (Fig
2). Recent laboratory and clinical investigations
into the roles of the innate immune system and
extracellular matrix remodeling proteins have shed
additional light on this pathogenetic process (5-7).
Role of androgens: Activity of type 1 5areductase
enzyme was shown to predominate in
human sebaceous glands and epidermis. This
enzyme is responsible for the conversion of
testosterone to the more potent androgen,
dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT in turn is thought
to mediate androgen dependent skin diseases such
as acne, hirsutism and androgenetic alopecia (13)
The enzyme 5a-reductase type 1 has been studied
in those with and without acne and it has been
hypothesized that those with acne might have more
active 5a-reductase type 1 .(2)
Conclusion : The prominent role of hormones in
the pathophysiology of acne has long been
recognized and corroborated by clinical and
experimental observations and therapeutic
experience (14). Although acne is not considered a
primary endocrine disorder, androgens, such as
dihydrotestosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone
sulfate, and testosterone, and growth hormone and
insulin-like growth factors, have all been
implicated in the pathogenesis of acne (15).

Power Versus Conventional Color Doppler Sonographic Diagnosis Of Acute Cholecystitis: Comparison In The Depiction Of Mural Flow
...Show More Authors

Background: Gray-scale sonography is generally
considered as a first-line diagnostic tool for patient with
suspected acute cholecystitis. It is suggested by gallstones,
Murphy's sign, thickening of the gallbladder wall and bile
sludging, but the specificity of these sonographic findings
are not as high as their sensitivity. Blood flow of the
gallbladder wall is increased in acute inflammation.
Objective: To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of
power Doppler sonography and compared with conventional
color Doppler and gray-scale sonography in diagnosing
patients with acute cholecystitis.
Type of the study: This was a cross sectional study.
Patients and methods: The study was conducted t

Abstract:

This research seeks to test the influence of intellectual capital as an explanatory variable and its components (human capital, structural capital, relational capital) and sustainable competitive performance as a responsive variable and its components (reducing service delivery cycle time, rapid response to market demand, increasing customer satisfaction, providing better Quality of service, increasing market share)” through a field study, and here the research problem was diagnosed in an attempt to answer the following question: Is there awareness among the senior management within the private colle

Detection of early occlusal caries of the first permanent molar using different techniques (An in vivo study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Molars and premolars are considered as the most vulnerable teeth of caries attack, which is related to the morphology of their occlusal surfaces along with the difficulty of plaque removal. different methods were used for early caries detection that provide sensitive, accurate preoperative diagnosis of caries depths to establish adequate preventive measures and avoid premature tooth treatment by restoration. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the clinical sensitivity and specificity rates of DIAGNOdent and visual inspection as opposed to the ICDAS for the detection of initial occlusal caries in noncavitated first permanent molars. Materials and Methods: This study examined 139 occlusal surface of the first permanent

The Effect of Dual Diode Laser: (810,980) nm in Acceleration of Orthodontic Tooth Movement A Case Report

Patients are very concerned about the lengthy nature of orthodontic treatment. It is necessary to find a non-invasive way to quicken physiologic tooth movement. This study's objective was to assess the effectiveness of low-intensity laser therapy in shortening the time and discomfort of orthodontic treatment. Experimental work: Using a split-mouth study to compare tooth movement with conventional treatment and laser-accelerated orthodontic tooth movement. A patient presenting with a class II division I malocclusion characterized by the misalignment of the upper and lower teeth as classified by Angle’s molar classification system was indicated to undergo fixed orthodontic appliance orthodontic treatment. The treatment plan involved bila

Studying the spectral properties of thin films of rhodamine (6G) dyes doped polymer (PMMA) dissolved in chloroform
...Show More Authors

In the present work, poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) doped with Rhodamine 6G was prepared. The spectral properties (absorption and fluorescence) of the films were studied at different concentrations (1x10-5, 2x10-5, 5x10-5, 7x10-5, and 1x10-4mol/l). The investigated samples were made in the form of thin films. This was achieved by dissolving a certain weight of PMMA in a fixed volume of chloroform, composite films was with thickness (25.8μm) at room temperature. The achieved results were pointed out that absorption and fluorescence spectra have taken a wide spectral rang so when increased the concentratio

Conflict of characters in the works of Jacob Steinberg story: סכסוך הדמויות ביצירותיו הסיפוריות של יעקב שטיינברג

A character is one of the most important pillars of narrative production. Most critics believe that a character is the focus of events.

Jacob Steinberg, a Jewish writer who is Ukrainian by origin, wrote many stories, most of which spoke about the lives of Jews in the diaspora, especially in Ukraine. The environment there has been reflected in his stories.

Steinberg focused on the role of characters in shaping these productions.

In this study, we discuss the conflict of characters in Steinberg's stories. This conflict is characterized by different trends and goals. There is a conflict with the environment, a conflict with society, a conflict with the self,
