Assessment of Thyroid Functions in Multiple Sclerosis Patients Treated with Disease Modifying Therapies: Thyroid Functions in Multiple Sclerosis
...Show More Authors

Background:

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease believed to be the result of autoimmune disorders of the central nervous system, characterised by inflammation, demyelination, and axonal transection, affecting primarily young adults. Disease modifying therapies have become widely used, and the rapid development of these drugs highlighted the need to update our knowledge on their short- and long-term safety profile.

Objective:

The study aim is to evaluate the impact of disease-modifying treatments on thyroid functions and thyroid autoantibodies with subsequent effects on the outcome of the disease.

Materials and Methods:

A retro prospective study enrolled 45 patients who were registered and diagnosed in the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic according to the revised McDonald criteria (2017). Blood samples for thyroid functions and thyroid autoantibody tests were taken before, 3 months and after 6 months from the start of disease modifying therapy. The Expanded Disability Status Scale was used to assess the severity of the disease before and after 6 months of receiving treatment.

Results:

45 patients with the mean age of 33.3 years, a standard deviation (SD) of ± 9.5 years were enrolled in this study. (64.4%) patients’ age was between 20 - 39 years.

The mean free T3 decreased significantly, while the mean anti-TPO and anti-TG increased after three months compared to its baseline level.

After six months of treatment, the mean free T4 decreased significantly, while the mean TSH increased compared to its baseline level. There were no statistically significant correlations between the baseline (EDSS) score and after 6 months of therapy.

Conclusion

Thyroid hormone dysfunction and thyroid autoimmune antibody levels that changed in response to interferon beta therapy in patients with multiple sclerosis may be temporary and not associated with poor outcomes.

...Show More Authors

Over the last few years, the interior designer has been given the ability to access many innovative tools for new forms of unprecedented diversity and efficiency. Some design experts have described the new parametric procedures they are introducing to create new interior projects as a radical transformation that carries all the elements of a qualitative shift in interior design. The best of these parametric procedures is the technical capabilities offered by us to create new forms that are different from what has been discussed in everything that has been produced by designers and architects since modernity and even before it to the present time, which returns our design products through a series of computer programs that perform the pro

I started writing the research because of the linguistic and rhetorical methods in the Holy Quran.
This Sura included in all its verses the plural form such as the word planets graves and seas except the word sky was singular as the name of a genus, and this Sura showed the horrors of the Day of Judgment at the world level Included another science is the science of the interview and also came in the repetition and deletion and other linguistic and rhetorical things and concluded this Sura that the goal of breaking the sky and scattering planets and scatter graves is the human himself.
The Koran is a miracle immortal and science is still drawn from him each according to his specialty.

Deception is defined as a linguistic and non-linguistic behavior that is used in interaction in order to make the addressees believe what is believed to be false or lack evidence. McCornack (1992) classifies deception into four manipulative strategies (i.e., fabrication, distortion, equivocation and concealment), other scholars argue that deception encompasses the strategies of “fabrication (outright lying), equivocation (being vague and ambiguous), or concealment (with holding relevant information) Thus, the present study investigates the deception strategies and motives that are used by Johnny Depp and Amber Heard during their defamation trials. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the prophet as a mercy to the worlds and on his family and companions. The phenomenon of suicide is one of the most expanding social phenomena in the world, where many groups of society of different ages try to put an end to their lives, especially young men and girls. The numbers always remain on the rise, and there is no doubt that the one who does this matter, that he has reasons that made him resort to suicide, and despite that, whatever those reasons. However, this is not a justification for the assault on the soul that God has forbidden to infringe on or lead them to perdition, or to what harms them.
