From September 2002, monthly samples of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) were collected from two stations al AL-Gharraf canal. The results of this study revealed that the relationship between fecundity and total length , body weight and age can be expressed by the following equations: Log F=2.049+1.059 Log W. r =0.98 Log F=1.173+2.534 Log L. r =0.96 Log F=3.844+2.197 Log A. r =0.87 The range of the absolute fecundity of 20 female fishes were 50910 – 1008514 eggs and the relative fecundity was 177 eggs/g. The average egg diameter was 1.52 mm in ripe female and it ranged from 0.99mm to 1.64mm. There were three peaks of Ganado somatic index in the female fishes appeared at August ,November and February While in the male fishes appeared at November, January and April, it was at least two spawning seasons in the year.
In vivo study was made for the coumpounds 3-(ocetyl Salicyloyl)-5,6-O-isoprpy lideneL-ascorbicocid,2,3-(acetyl Salicyloyl )-5,6-o- isopropylidene-L-ascorbic acid and 2,3,5,6(acetyl Salicyloyl )-L- ascorbic acid .And a measurement was mod for the concentration of the liberated aspirin in blood samples a fter (2,3,4,6,8,10) hours of the initial dose for the animal .The results showed that the highest concentration of aspirin was after four hours of giving the dose to the animal which is in accordance with pharmacokinetics studies
The present study aimed to estimate percentage of red and white muscles fibers in two species of bony fishes belong to two different families which represented by Tenualosa ilisha (Hamilton , 1822) that belongs to the family Clupeidae and Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus , 1758) that belongs to the family Cyprinidae . A total of 109 fish specimens belonging to six species (Barbus grypus, B. luteus, B. xanthopterus, Cyprinion macrostomum, Cyprinus carpio and Liza abu) were collected from Tigris river passing through Salah Al-Deen province during the period from September 2008 till January 2009. Age and growth of a population of Varicorhinus trutta (Heckel) from Tigris river at Salahuldin province have been investigated during the period from September 1999 to August 2000. A total of 156 fishes were collected from two stations at Tigris river using small meshed gill nets. An electrical survey was carried out by using 2D imaging technique at (15)
station. The study area is located southern Al-Shihaby area, south-east of Wasit
governorate, Eastern Iraq. The numbers of the employed electrodes were (120) and
the (a) spacing equal to (10m), and the total length of survey line is (1200m). The
inverse models of 2D imaging showed one Quaternary aquifer located in the
Quaternary deposits which comprises in alluvial fan and wind deposits of
(Pleistocene – Holocene) ages. Layers of aquifer consist of gravel and sand with
little silt. Low resistivity values reflected the presence of clay layers, and increasing

The recent study was conducted to measure some heavy metal content in potato and corn chips in Baghdad markets. Samples were analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Four metals, Cobalt (Co), Cadmium (Cd), Cupper (Cu) and Lead (Pb) were determined. Two types belonging to two manufacturer resources and two trademarks for each resource were tested in this work. Generally, the study recorded that the potato chips were containing metals less than the corn chips. According to Iraqi criteria, all tested types of potato chips were under the allowed levels.
