Many international studies indicated that the polymorphisms of some genes disturbed the folate homocysteine (Hcy) metabolism and increased the vulnerability to Down syndrome (DS). We aimed to measure the serum levels of folate and Hcy in DS children and compare the levels with age and sex-matched apparently normal healthy children. We also aimed to study the A80G polymorphism of the gene reduced folate carrier (RFC1) in the DS children as a risk factor. Forty children with DS (24 were boys, and 16 were girls) with the age range between 5-13 years, and 26 normal healthy children (16 boys and ten girls) were included in this study. The results show that the highest genotype in the control group was AG (53.85%) followed by AA and GG (30.

This study consists of two parts, field and experimental. In field part; cadmium concentrations were measured in soil and parsley Petroselinum crispum samples of five different agricultural areas in Baghdad city. This study assesses the delay of mastectomy "time from the first consultation of a doctor to the time of mastectomy" and its relationship with the stage of the disease among Iraqi women with breast cancer. A study was carried out on (113) women who were referred to the Outpatient Clinic of the Oncology Teaching Hospital and the Iraqi National Cancer Research Center, University of Baghdad, for the period from 2012 to 2016.Patients' age range between (40-49) years comprised (60.2%) of cases, and showed advanced tumor stage (62.96%)of stage III. It was found that infiltrating ductal carcinoma was the most common type of breast cancer that found in (77%) of cases.

This study were designed to make comparison between the influence alcoholic extract of Arctium lappa L. leaves and Pentoxifylline on treatment the adverse effect of gentamicin on DNA of sperms. Thirty five male rats were divided into 5 groups: the 1st group (T1) was made as negative control group, the 2nd group (T2) was given distilled water and gentamicin 5mg/kg (positive control group), the 3rd group (T3) was given a dose 600 mg/kg of Arctium lappa L and gentamicin, the 4th group (T4) was given dose 100mg/kg of pentoxifylline and gentamicin, the 5th group (T5) was given a dose 300mg/kg of Arctium lappa extract with dose 50mg/kg of pentoxifylline and gentamicin. The results of DNA damage% and agglutination % in T3, T4 and T5 appeared an
