Using of Some Bacterial Species to Treat Polluted Soils with Hydrocarbons.

Three bacterial species were isolated from three polluted soils with gasoline which leaks from electricity generators that used in different regions in Baghdad; the regions choices to collect the polluted soils were (Al-Shaab, Al- Jadryia and Al-Saydiya).     The bacterial species were identified according to international biochemical   methods. It was found that these species were Escherichia coli, Enterobacter    aerogenes and serratia marcesens.      It was found that the optimum temperature and pH were 37C°and 9 these were to cultivate E.coli and S.marcesens, while for   E.aerogenes   were 25 C° and   9.       FTIR (Fluori Transmission Infra Red) spectrum technique was depended to   test the ability of isolated bacteria to biodegrade the gasoline in order to use these bacteria in bioremediation for polluted soils with hydrocarbons

Three-species food chain model with cannibalism in the second level

This article suggests and explores a three-species food chain model that includes fear effects, refuges depending on predators, and cannibalism at the second level. The Holling type II functional response determines food consumption between stages of the food chain. This study examined the long-term behavior and impacts of the suggested model's essential elements. The model's solution properties were studied. The existence and stability of every probable equilibrium point were examined. The persistence needs of the system have been determined. It was discovered what conditions could lead to local bifurcation at equilibrium points. Appropriate Lyapunov functions are utilized to investigate the overall dynamics of the system. To support the a

Biological effects of Chitin synthesis inhibitor Applaud (buprofezin) on Culex quinquefasciatus in polluted water

The present study was carried out to evaluate the biological effects of chitin synthesis inhibitor, applaud (Buprofezin); on immature stages of mosquito, Culex quinquefasciatus. The study showed that the chitin synthesis inhibitor applaud caused biological effects represented in molting failure of larva to subsequent phase or to pupal stage, pupa to adults and mortality. The percentage of the effects differed depending on concentrations used; significantly increased with increasing of concentrations. Also the failure of molting significantly increased compared with mortality at low concentrations and inversely at high concentrations, due to lethal effect of buprofezin at high concentrations. The study of the accumulative death of the fir

Revision of some species of the genus Cryptosporidium (Tyzzer, 1907) (Eucoccidiorida, cryptosporidiidae) in cattle in Iraq

Cryptosporidium is a protozoan parasite of medical and veterinary significance that causes gastroenteritis in a number of vertebrate hosts. Several studies have recorded different degrees of pathogenicity and virulence among Cryptosporidium species and isolates of the same species as well as evidence of variation in host susceptibility to infection. Nevertheless, important progress has been made in determining Cryptosporidium's putative virulence factors. Since the publication of C parvum and C. Hominis this development has been accelerated genomes, identified by a range of immunological and molecular techniques with the characterization of over 25 putative virulence factors, which are proposed to be involved in aspects of host-pat

Formation of New Macrocyclic Complexes with Bis (Dithiocarbamate) Ligand;Preparation, Structural Characterisation and Bacterial Activity

The synthesis and characterisation of new macrocyclic binuclear metal(II) complexes derived from dithiocarbamate (DTC) ligand are reported. The reaction of a bis-secondary amine, CS2 and KOH resulted in the formation of the free ligand. Two approaches were implemented to synthesis the macrocyclic bis(dithiocarbamate) complexes; (i) from the reaction of the free ligand with a metal ion, and (ii) via a one-pot reaction. In the free ligand approach, complexes were obtained by the reaction of dithiocarbamate salt with the metal ions; CoII, ZnII and CdII. However, the one-pot reaction is based on the mixing of the bissecondary amine, CS2, KOH and metal(II) chloride. Physico-chemical analyses were implemented to characterise the ligand and its

Efficacy of Papacarie in Reduction Total Bacterial Count in Comparison with the Conventional Rotary Method

Background: The change in the concepts of cavity preparation and the development of reliable adhesive materials lead to the development of alternative methods of caries removal. Chemo-mechanical caries removal (CMCR) involves the chemical softening of carious dentin, followed by its removal with manual excavation. The present study was conducted to evaluate clinically the efficiency of caries removal using a new chemo-mechanical agent (Papacarie) compared to the conventional drilling method in reduction of total bacterial count. Material and methods: The study is a split mouth design. The sample composes from sixty mandibular deciduous molars teeth in thirty children, between six to nine years of age with bilateral class I deep occlusal car

Treatment of collapse of gypseous soils by grouting

Gypseous soil is a collapsible soil, which causes large deformations in buildings that are constructed on it. Various methods have been used to minimise this effect, such as replacing the gypseous soil or using soil stabilisation (grouting or soil improvement). This study was carried out on four types of gypseous soils that have different properties and various gypsum contents. The testing was carried out on remoulded samples to evaluate the compressibility of gypseous soil under different conditions. The samples were grouted with acrylate liquid. The relationships between the injection pressure and the radius of flow, between time of injection and radius of flow, and between time and quantity of acrylate liquid are investigated on

Vaccination of chicken against Coccidiosis by using live Oocysts of different species of Eimeria

The study was conducted to vaccinate chickens against coccidiosis  using alive vaccine contain seven species of chicken Eimeria,  E. tenella, E. brunetti, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. mevati, E. acervulina  and E. praecox.    A total of 120 chicks were divided into two main groups: broiler group and egg laying group.  The birds of each group were allocated on to three pins, each contains 20 chicks.  The birds of the experiment were vaccinated at day nine of age, with a suspension of mixed Eimeria which contain 50 Oocysts of E. tenella with a different percent of other species, respectively.  The vaccine was given to chicks in the 1st pins of each group with drinking water,  the chicks in th

STUDY OF FRUITS MORPHOLOGICAL FEATURES FOR 33 SPECIES BELONG TO CRUCIFERAE FAMILY IN IRAQ

The research was aimed to identify fruits morphological characteristics of 33 taxa belonging to the Lepidieae tribe from Brassicaceae. The characteristics of the fruit's general shape, apex shape, dimensions, colors, surface ornamentation, and beak were determined, the results indicated the importance of each of those characters in isolated species, In general, all the tribe's fruits were open capsule and short silicula. According to the dimensions of fruit, three species can be distinguished as a group with dimensions greater than 20mm, as in Brossardia, Coluteocarpus, and Didymophysa, and depending on the shape, it was possible to differentiate the species within this group, while the other species were less than 20 mm. in dimensi
