Study of Different of Surface Characteristics Between Gram Negative and Positive Bacteria

The study included evaluation of cell surface charge and hydrophobicity of Escherichia coli, Klebsilla aerogenes, Proteus spp, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus(1) and Staphylococcus aureus(2) were determined by hydrocarbon adherence and hydrophobic interaction chromatography. The results showed that the negative charge of cell surface of gram negative bacteria was much higher than on gram positive once when these bacteria were grown on nutrient agar at 37 c for 18 h . E.coli was more negative charged than Klebsilla aerogenes and Proteus spp. The hydrophobicity of gram positive bacteria was much higher than of gram negative once, and S. epidermidis was more than S. aureus(1) B.cereus. and S.aureus (2) . The hydrophobic characteristics  was quite different when these bacteria were grown on nutrient broth in comparison with nutrient ager. However the hydrophobic character was lower in non-capsulated and sporalated bacteria than the capsulated and sporalated at 48 h.

Morphological, Biochemical and Molecular Characterization of Ten Rhizobial Bacteria Isolates.

This study was done in biotechnology laboratories in the national center of organic
farming /ministry of agriculture where ten of Rhizobial isolates and strain studied were
either local isolate from chickpea root nodules or non- local (Syrian and Turkish)
obtained from ICARDA.These isolates were identified and characterized on the basis of
colonies morphology and biochemical tests including gram staining, catalase and
oxidase tests. The Genetic diversity among the isolates was assessed by RAPD(Randum
Amplified Polynorphic DNA)-PCR(Polynerase Chain Reaction) finger printing by using
five primers. The RAPD result showed high ability to detect genetic polymorphism in
Rhizobia and have the ability to generated unique

Comparison Study of Plasma-Activated Water and Plasma Jet Effects on Escherichia coli Bacteria for the Disinfection of Tooth Root Canal

This study compares the effects of plasma jet and plasma-activated water on teeth root canals contaminated with Escherichia coli bacteria. A plasma jet system was developed for biological purposes that operate at atmospheric pressure. The plasma jet works with argon gas and is generated by a power supply, which supplies a sinusoidal alternating voltage of 12 kV of 20 kHz frequency. The system was optically diagnosed, as it was found that the peaks of the nitrogen spectrum were obtained at the wavelength (300- 450) nm with the appearance of hydroxide peaks at 380 nm. Extracted teeth with one root canal were used, which were contaminated with bacteria and divided into two groups to be treated with a plasma jet and plasma-activated
