The area of study is located at southern east of Karbala governorate, in basin of Dibdiba formation (upper Miocene-Pliocene), between longitudes (43ο 57' 34.2" & 44ο 09' 49.2ʺ) and latitudes (32ο 23' 16.4" & 32ο 36' 03.2"), this area about ( 336 ) km2. It is consists the geochemical and hydrochemical studies of heavy elements (Co, Ni, Mn, Cd, Pb, Zn, Fe) and (B+3) and measure the concentration of elements from samples of groundwater of 16 wells. After data collection from the analysis of the samples of water we are saving the results on the computer, with GIS software techniques, and draw different maps which represent the zones of the distribution of concentrations the metals.     The tentative list of the biodiversity (plants and vertebrates) of Bahr Al-Najaf depression is found to comprise 104 vertebrate species including 2 fishes, 14 reptiles, 73 resident and migratory birds and 15 mammals. The flora consists of 31 species, mainly of plants well adapted to desert conditions that dominate the area, besides few examples of water plants. The salinity was found, through chemical analysis of the lake water, to be of high value which reduces the diversity of aquatic animal and plant diversity.

Forty one isolates of genus Proteus were collected from 140 clinical specimens such as urine, stool, wound, burn, and ear swabs from patients of both sex. This research presents an overview of the preliminary evaluation results of the new Earth Gravitation Model (EGM08) in the middle of Iraq. For completeness, the evaluation tests were also performed for EGM96 by examining 31 stations distributed over four Iraqi provinces.
