This study aims to assess the suitability of the sediments present in Tigris River, Tikrit city, northern Iraq for concrete production and road building purposes. Representative samples were collected from three selected stations at the study area using the channel modeling method. According to the grain size analysis, the sediments were classified as a type of poorly graded gravels (GP) depending on the unified soil classification system. The true specific gravity of the soil ranged between 2.28 and 2.568. The chemical analysis of the study samples revealed that gypsum content ranged between 0.82 and 1.69 %. This study aims to assess the removal efficiency andestablish the BOD5 and COD statisticalcorrelation of the sewage flowing in Al-Diwaniyah wastewater treatment plant in Iraq during the study period (2005-2016). The strength of the influent wastewater entering the plant varied from medium to high in strength.     Polycystic ovary syndrome is a very common cause of female infertility. This study aims to assess the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its association with clinical and anthropometric characteristics of Iraqi women with and without polycystic ovary syndrome. Fifty eightwomen with the disease and their matched control group were included. Their blood pressure was measured. Serum level of 25 hydroxy vitamin D of <20 ng/mL was graded as vitamin D deficiency. The polycystic ovary syndrome group had significantly lower levels of 25 hydroxy vitamin D, higher body mass index, and higher waist to hip ratio in contrast to the control group.
