Four hundred and fifty urine samples were collected from patients suffering from urinary tract infection from the General Azadi hospital in Kurkuk province ,during the period of october 2007 till march 2008 . Results of bacteriological culture revealed that (168) out of (450) studied samples (37.3%) gave positive culture using blood agar and macConkey agar ; different species of bacterial isolates were detected using morphological and biochemical tests ,from these isolates the highest percentage of the isolates were from Escherichia coli when it was (100) isolates out of (190) isolate (52.63%) . one hundred isolates were distributed between (77) from females and (23) from males The susceptibility of E.coli isolates towards (13) types of antimicrobial agents commomly used in treatment of urinary tract infection were tested in vitro . Variations in susceptibility against antimicrobial were found. The antiseptic drug Nitrofurantoin showed the highest activity on E.coli when the resistance reached (14 %) , from the other hand E.coli isolates showed great resistance to other antimicrobial : sulphamethoxazole was (100 %) ,Ampicillin (99 %) ,Cephalexin (62 %) ,Agumentin (58 %) , Nalidixic acid (54 %) , Trimethoprim (52 %) , Pipracillin (45 %) , Ceftriaxone (40 %) , Lomefloxacin (39 %) , Cefotaxime (39 %) , Ciprofloxacin (37 %) and to Co-trimxazole was (37 %) . Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) for Ciprofloxacin and Lomefloxacin were studied and the results showed higher values in MIC. MIC values for eight isolates of bacteria E.coli were so high they were (400> µg/ml) for Ciprofloxacin were (19.5%) while five isolates of bacteria E.coli were with MIC value of (400>µg/ml) with (11.6%) to Lomefloxacin . The ability of bacteria E.coli isolates to produce ß-lactamase enzyme using Capillary tubes method was studied. The results showed (61 %) of these isolates gave positive results when the red cloer of the indicator phenol was changed from red to yellow within (15) minuets .When using Disc approximation method to detect the ability to production Extended Spectrum ßlactamase enzyme (ESBLs) out of (61)isolates only (11)isolates were positive (18 %); Nine ESBLs producer showed high resistance to antimicrobial Quinolones (Naldixic acid ,Ciprofloxacin and Lomefloxacin) with percentage reached (72.7%) .
Derivatives of Schiff-bases possess a great importance in pharmaceutical chemistry. They can be used for synthesizing different types of bioactive compounds. In this paper, derivatives of new Schiff bases have been synthesized from several serial steps. The acid (I) was synthesized from the reaction of dichloroethanoic acid with 2 moles of p-aminoacetanilide. New acid (I) converted to its ester (II) via the reaction of (I) with dimethyl sulphate in the present of anhydrous of sodium carbonate and dry acetone. Thin films were prepared from melting coumrin C 2 dye in solvent DMF with PMMA with the same solvent and concentrations(1*10-2 5*10-3, 1*10-3 )M ,Films were either left on Flat surface for24hours or dried in avacuum oven for five hours at a temperature of 80c.The relative intensity of both the absorption and fluorescece spectrum are found to be increased with the increase of thickness of these films and concentration .Also the thickness of these films was measured by Mickelsons interfearing method.Also quantum efficiency of these films were measured too

The calculated neutron yields from (α, n) reactions are very important in analyzing radiation shielding of spent fuel storage, transport and safe handling. The cross sections of 63Cu (α, n) 66Ga and 65Cu (α, n) 68Ga reactions are calculated for different α-energies using different sets of programs using Matlab language. The values deduced energy is from threshold to Eα= 30 MeV and to Eα= 40 MeV for 63Cu (α, n) 66Ga and 65Cu (α, n) 68Ga respectively. The weight average cross section was then used to calculate the neutron yields y0 (n/106α) for each reaction .The empirical formula was then suggested to calculate total neutron yield to each isotope.

Surveying 59 references concerning the occurrence of the monogeneans of the family Diplozoidae parasitizing fishes of Iraq showed the occurrence of 15 valid species of this family which included one species of Diplozoon, one species of Eudiplozoon and 13 species of Paradiplozoon. In addition to these species, some unidentified adult and larval (diporpa larvae) specimens of the genus Diplozoon were reported from 12 fish hosts among which four fish species showed no infection with any of the nominated diplozoid species while the others showed mixed diplozoid infections. The measurement is achieved by using open circuit voltage decay (OCVD) technique. A total of 533 specimens were collected in survey of Brachyceran species from different regions of Iraq during February to November 2014 .This study was reported 16 species belonging to 13 genera and 7 families, the results showed that Dicranosepsis Duda, 1926 (Family; Sepsidae) is recorded the genus for the first time in Iraq.
