A biological experiment was conducted to study the effect of different concentrations of gibberellic acid and urea fertilizer and their interactions in some characteristic related to green growth of fenugreek plant (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) in the green house of Department of Biology in College of Education (IbnÂalÂHaitham)/Baghdad University for the growth season (2008Â2009) in pots of (5 kgm) soil per pot, and four concentrations of gibberellic acid were used, they are (0,25,50,100) ppm, these concentrations were sprayed after the perfection of the fourth leaf for the plant. Moreover, three levels of urea fertilizer were used, they were (0.25, 0.50, 1.00) gm/pot. These concentrations were added as two pushes, the first was added before agriculture and the second was added after (45) days of agriculture. The experiment was performed according to complete random design (CRD) and three repeated as the experiment has included (36) pots. The results represent that the concentrations (25,50) ppm of gibberellic acid and (0.50, 1.00) gm/pot of urea fertilizer level lead to significant increasing of characteristics associated with plant height and dry weight of fenugreek plant, while the concentration of gibberellic acid (25 ppm) and urea fertilizer level at (0.50, 1.00) gm/pot give a significant increase of characteristics related to absolute growth mean, relative growth mean and number of branches related to fenugreek plant.
An isolate of Leishmania major was grown on the semisolid medium and incubated at 26ºC. The isolate was irradiated by He: Ne laser (632.8 nm, 10 mW) at exposure times (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30) minutes in their respective order. The unirradiated groups represent control group. Growth rate and percentage of viability were examined during six days after irradiation. The change in these two parameters reflects the effect of irradiation on the parasite. The results refers that the general growth effected by irradiation in comparison with un irradiation group, The growth rate of parasite decrease with increasing the exposure time in comparison with control group. Parasite viability decrease with irradiation and the percentage of living cell dec

Show MoreThis work describes, selenium (Se) films were deposited on clean glass substrates by dc planar magnetron sputtering technique. The dependence of sputtering deposition rate of Se film deposited on pressure and DC power has been studied. The optimum argon pressure has range (4x10-1 -8x10-2 )mbar. The optical properties such as absorption coefficient (α) was determined using the absorbance and transmission measurement from UnicoUV-2102 PC spectrophotometer, at normal incidence of light in the wavelength range of 200-850 nm. And also we calculated optical constants(refractive index (n), dielectric constant (εi,r), and Extinction coefficient (κ) for selenium films.
The leaves of globe artichoke, Cynara scolymus Family Asteraceae/ compositea have long – used in traditional medicine and now included in British and European Pharmacopeia, the British Harbal Pharmacopeia and complete German Commission E monographs. The plant originally comes from Mediterranean region and North Africa and cultivated around the world. The flowers are used worldwide for nutrition purposes and the leaves for medical purposes including hepatic affections. The plant wildly distributed in Iraq in the watery lines and boundary of the field. The plant contains many phytochemicals such as the bitter phenolic acids whose choleretic and hypocholestremic as these compounds are antioxidant. Other materials to h

This experiment was conducted to examine the effects of injected gibberellic acid GA3 in subcutaneous of hens neck and supplemental vitamin D3 to control basal diet on productive performance and egg shell thickness ,relative weight of egg shell of aged laying hens. Two hundred and seventy Lohmann Brown laying hens at 73 weeks of age were randomly assigned to three treatments groups. Each treatment consist of three replicates (30 hens / replicate). The treatments were : T1 control were injected subcutaneous with 0.2 ml / kg of body weight of ethanol: sesame oil solution, T2 and T3 were injected subcutaneous with 0.2 ml / kg of body weight of ethanol: sesame oil solution which contained 400 μg GA3/ kg of body weight /week during 8 weeks (tre
