The present study was designed to investigate the effect of R. stolonifer metabolic products on some antioxidant defenses and some elements (Cu, Fe, Ca) . The experiment was performed using 25 mature male rats, their age average was about (3-3.5) months and their weight average was about (200-225) gm. The animals were randomly divided into 5 equal groups (five animals for each): control (treated orally with normal saline) and four treatment groups were drenched orally with four concentrations of R. stolonifer metabolic products (15, 30, 60,120) μl/kg body weight. The animals were treated with one single dose of the previously described concentrations then left for 15 days. Animals of different groups were sacrificed under light ether anesthesia one day after the end of treatments and blood samples were taken to determine some physiological, biochemical parameters. The results revealed that the treated groups showed significant decreases (P< 0.05) in serum vitamin C and Fe, Cu concentrations. The decrease was proportional with the increase the concentrations of the metabolic products of R. stolonifer. On the contrary Catalase activity increased significantly (P< 0.05), while Ca concentration didn’t differ significantly (P< 0.05) The findings of this study may encourage other researcher for further study especially that we find in our local market that there are many rotted vegetable and fruits which may cause serious problems if consumed for certain period.
The present study was conducted in the nursery of Floriculture Unit, University of Baghdad in Iraq during September to December of 2013. Vernalized bulbs of hybrid lily cultivars were imported from the Netherlands. The experiments were included some hybrid lily cultivars which represent the main groups of lily (longiflorum hybrids, Asiatic hybrid and trumpet hybrids). The three lily cultivars named as Tiger (Oriental), Brunello (Asiatic) and White Heaven (Longiflorum) were sprayed two times, at five weeks after planting and at eight weeks after planting with a solution of Cycocel (100 mg /l), solution of Indole butyric acid (50 mg/l) and Benzyl adenine (50 mg /l). The results indicated that foliar spray with IBA lead to decrease in flowe

It can be formed in food as a result of metabolic processes of microorganisms .If the concentration of histamine is above a normal level (5mg/100g) this could possibly due to bacterial contamination of food harmful affect may occur.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to detect histamine forming bacteria and quantification of histamine in fresh meat product available in local meat markets in Baghdad.
Methods: Histamine level determination in some red meats product was performed by known colorimetric methods. This method enables a rapid and precise determination of histamine in many samples, in this study, total number of t
Background: Autoantibodies to islet cell antigens are known predictors of type 1 diabetes and detected in latent autoimmune diabetes in adults.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the metabolic and immunological disturbances in diabetic patients with positive and negative islet cell antibodies (ICAs)
Materials and methods: A total number of 235 known cases of diabetes mellitus type 1 (160) and type 2 diabetes (75) were admitted in the study. Serum ICA and immunoglobulins (IgA, IgM, IgG) as well lipid profile were measured.
Results: Positive ICAs was found in 40 out of 120 T1D (33.3%) and 28 out of 75 T2D (37.3%). All the patients were poorly controlled diabetes with the evidence of significant high
The current study sheds light on the measurement and estimation of the radioactivity of radionuclides (238U, 226Ra, 232Th, and 40k) in natural waters of different regions of Nineveh Governorate in Iraq.15 samples were collected from different sources of natural waters, where gamma-ray spectroscopy was used using NaI)TI) sodium iodide detector to determine the concentration of radioactivity in the samples. According to the results, the radioactivity concentration in the tested water sample were ranged from 0.36 ± 0.04-1.57 ± 0.09with an average value of 0.69 ± 0.06 Bq/l for 238U, and 2.9 ± 0.02-0.88 ± 0.03 with an average value of 0.65 ± 0.03 Bq/l for 226Ra Bq/l

A survey of (25) a questions was distributed to a sample of the audience of 150 people. The statistical program SPSS was used to unload the data and for the calculation of frequencies and percentages and correlation coefficients. The research reached several results, Most importantly, the television promotion is well receiv

Most of the industrial organization in the world became suffering from the problem of the pollution of the poisonous chemicals things, this urged to depend on the principle of the responsible production, because it has the positive role by dealing with these chemical things and to safe the health of the society, due to the main goal of this study is to restrict the role responsible production in accomplishing the system of the environmental management through an actual study in the northern gas company in Kirkuk province, the topic has acquired a big importance bacause there were a limited number of studies and res

Some studies have confirmed that the more the knowledge in nutrition basis increased, the more the child has well-balanced food.
Unhealthy eating habits spread among children at an early age, which is one of the negative factors affecting the nutritional status they have causing various disorders as a result of lack or increase of food or lack of balance. The signs and symptoms of these disorders can be simple or can lead to deadly diseases.
Training children on proper eating habits in different fields of life is considered the mos

Structure properties including x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM0, also some of mechanical properties and the effect of thermal annealing in different temperature have been studied. The results show that the particle size of a prepared nano-powder was 50 up to 75 nm from SEM, and the crystal structure of the powders (original and nano powder) was rutile with tetragonal cell. This paper presents a three-dimensional Dynamic analysis of a rockfill dam with different foundation depths by considering the dam connection with both the reservoir bed and water. ANSYS was used to develop the three-dimensional Finite Element (FE) model of the rockfill dam. The essential objective of this study is the discussion of the effects of different foundation depths on the Dynamic behaviour of an embanked dam. Four foundation depths were investigated. They are the dam without foundation (fixed base), and three different depths of the foundation. Taking into consideration the changing of upstream water level, the empty, minimum, and maximum water levels, the results of the three-dimensional F
Brick factories distributed within the study area use fuel oil to complete the burning of the bricks, were high amounts of gases and suspended particles with different concentrations of heavy elements are produced and cause air and soil pollution. It is noted that the workers suffer from respiratory diseases and other health problems. This study is an attempt to detect the sources and concentrations of pollutants and to propose modalities for their treatment and reduction. Air and soil samples were collected from different sites in Abu Smeache brick factory in Al-Kifl area to the south of Babel city, Iraq, during two seasons (summer and winter). The process also included collecting and modelling of dust and soil
