The new schiff bases derived from D-erythroascorbic acid contaning heterocyclic unit were synthesized by condensation of D-erythroascorbic acid with aromatic amine (containing 1,3,4oxadiazole or 1,3,4-thiadiazole unit) in dry benzene using glacial acetic acid as a catalyst. Derythroascorbic acid [IV] was synthesized by four steps (Scheme 1), while the primary aromatic amine which is containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole [VII] or 1,3,4-thiadiazole [VIII] synthesized by the reaction of 4methoxy benzoyle hydrazine [VI] with 4-amino benzoic acid or by the reaction tuloic acid with thiosemicarbazide, respectively in the presence of POCl3. The new 1,3-oxazepine derivatives were obtained by addition reaction of Schiff bases with different anhydrides in dry benzene, The new 1,3oxazepine derivatives [XII]a-d- [XIV]a-d were synthesized by refluxing compound [IX] , [X] or [XI]
with different anhydride (maleic, phthalic, naphthalic anhydride or pyromellitic dianhydride) in presence of dry benzene. The structure of synthesized compounds have been characterized by their melting points , elemental analysis and by their spectral data; FTIR , UV-Vis, Mass and (1HNMR , 13CNMR of some of them) spectroscopy . All the synthesized compounds have been screened for their antibacterial activities. They exhibited good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (G-) and Staphylococus aureus (G+) .

A study of non-diatom algal species composition in twelve sites from Greater Zab River path within
Erbil Province, was carried out from April 2021 to January 2022 with monthly sample collection in twelve studied sites. Among them site 4,5,6,7 and 9 are the first for algal study in this area. The 112 different species of algae belong to 33 genera, 25 families, 13 orders and 4 divisions have been identified. An antibacterial and antifungal piperonal-derived compound and its Rh(III), Pd(II), Pt(IV), and Cd(II) metal complexes were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic methods, conductivity, metal analyses and magnetic moment measurements. The nature of the complexes formed in ethanolic solution was studied following the molar ratio method. From the spectral studies, octahedral geometry was suggested for rhodium (III) and platinum (IV) complexes, while a square planer structure was suggested for palladium (II) complex and a tetrahedral geometry for cadmium (II) complex. Structural geometries of these compounds were also suggested in gas phase by using hyperchem-8 program for the molecular mechanics and semi-empirical calculations.

The study was carried out to detection of H. pylori in (218) patients who attended two teaching hospitals in Baghdad. The diagnosis was done by Immunochromatography methods. Stools and blood samples were taken from each patient as well as other (30) healthy control matching in age. The study included measurement the Levels of Interleukin-32, Interleukin-33, and Acid phosphatase in sera of patients and control .The result indicated presence of H pylori antigen in 115 cases 59 cases of males and 51 of females , Also, the result indicated increasing levels of IL-32 and IL-33 and Acid phosphatase in patients sera in comparison with healthy control.

Expired drug Metoclopramide was investigated as an antibacterial corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 0.5M H3PO4 solution using the electrochemical method at 30oC and 60oC. The results showed that this drug is an efficient inhibitor for carbon steel and the efficiency reached to 82.244 % for 175 ppm at 30oC and 76.146% for 225 ppm at 60oC. The adsorption of drug on carbon steel surface follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm with small values of adsorption-desorption constant.
