This study describes the determination of some phenols in four different zones of Tigris river in Iraq including, AL-Krieat, AL-Kadhimiya, AL-Jadiriyah, and AL-Adhamiyah. The phenolic compounds analyzed were (2,3-dimethylphenol, 4-chlorophenol, 3-nitrophenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol) using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RPHPLC) with a UV detector on ODS-C18 column(150×4.6 mm I.D) and a mobile phase consisted of methanol-water(30:70)%(v/v) at pH 5.0, and a column temperature at 30C° with 20 µL injection. UV detection helps to identify different phenols at wave length at 280 nm with a flow rate at 0.5 ml/min. The separation time was (< 6) min.The results indicated that the AL-Adhamiyah zone contains the highest concentration of 3-nitrophenol (0.094 µg/mL), while the AL-Jadiriyah zone recorded the lowest concentration of 3-nitrophenol (0.056 µg/mL).On the other hand the other phenolic compounds studied did not record any concentration in four zones of Tigris river. The values of correlation coefficient and accuracy were calculated for 3-nitrophenol, the graph was linear with very good correlation coefficient (R2>0.9999).
The present paper includes a study of color variation in Iraqi Collared dove Streptopelia decaocto. Three different populations have been recognized: the southern population which belongs to the Indian race, the northern population to the Eurasian race; the dark and light color variation occurs in the Baghdad population because of hybridisation between the two races, found infected with two cestodes, Raillietina echinobothrida found in most of our specimens, while the dark face found beside R. echinobothrida infected with Idiogenes sp. getting it probably from vertebrate sources. These drugs are available for oral use as tromethamine and calcium, while fosfomycin-sodium and disodium are given for intravenous (IV) and intramuscular (IM). Many quantitative analytical methods have been reported to estimate Fosfomycin in blood, urine, plasma, serum, and pharmaceutical dosage formulations. Some techniques were spectrophotometric, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, and electrochemical methods. Here we perform a rapid narrative review that discusses and comparison between them of various analytical methods for the determination of Fosfomycin-containing drugs.

Specimens of the hedgehog Hemiechinus auritus Gmelin. which were trapped in two places on the Eastern shores of the Tigris River, some 50 and 60 Km, south of Baghdad. central Iraq. were searched for ectoparasites. They revealed the following parasites: One species of Anoplura: polyplex spinulosa (Burm.), family Hoplople uridae, two species of fleas: Synostrnus pallidus (Tasch.) and Ctenocephalides felis (Bouche), family pulicidae, One mite species: Ornithonyssus bacoti (Hirst), family Macronyssidae and two tick species: Rhipicephalus leporis and R. turanicum family Ixodidae. All these ectoparasite species are new records on this hedgehog in Iraq.

The inhibitory effect of acetone, ethanol, and aqueous extracts of ten medicinal plants on β-lactamase from Staphylococcus sciuri and Klebsiella pneumoniae was investigated in vitro by starch-iodine agar plate method. The results revealed the success of starch-iodine method for the detection of the inhibition of β-lactamase activity by the various extracts of each individual plant.
