Laboratory and field experiment were conducted at MustansiryahUniversity in 2010 to investigate the possible allelopathic potential ofDigitariasanguinalis (L.) Large crabgrass andClerodenduminerme on the seed germination and seedling growth of bladygrass (Imperata cylindrica), the results showed areduce of 44%and 43% in seed germinationby leaves extracts ofClerodenduminermeandDigitariasanguinalisrespectively in 50% concentration and 61% and 62% in 100% concentration. Root and shoot length of blady grass seedlings growth were reduced by an average of 75-70%. Field experiments indicated thatcrude material of Clerodenduminerme and Digitariasanguinalisin50 gm/ m2 gave the highest control on blady grass than the herbicide Ground- up in 25ml/liter and 12.5 ml/liter concentration in reduced blady grass density per unit area ,plant length,and foliage dry weight. Phytotox agents were identified assaponin, flavon, glycoside, phenolic, alkaloid, steroid, tannin ,coumarinand essensial oil were detected in leaves extract of Clerodenduminermeand Digitariasanguinalis
In this work, a series of new maleimides linked to substituted benzothiazole moiety were synthesized. Synthesis of these new cyclic imides were performed via three steps, the first one involved preparation of a series of 2-aminobenzothiazole substituted with different substituents via reaction of different primary aromatic amines with ammonium thiocyanate and bromine in glacial acetic acid. Introduction: Candida spp. has become increasingly resistant to antifungal drugs, with elevated MIC levels causing a negative medical impact and increasing the number of patients at risk of candidiasis. According to the CDC, about 7% of Candida blood samples show reduced susceptibility to fluconazole. Monitoring the antifungal resistance profile of Candida spp. is vital, as non-Albicans species may limit treatment options. Due to increasing cost of asphalt binder, significant economic savings can be realized by using the amount from reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in the production of new hot mix asphalt (HMA). Moreover, this is an environmentally friendly option as it reduces the demand for virgin materials. It has to be remarked that in Iraq RAP is not used in the production of HMA and this valuable material is mostly degraded for use in lower value applications. The present study conducted on 30 female patients with osteoarthritis OA a attending Baghdad teaching hospital, in addition to 30 healthy females, all subjects were (35-65) year's old .Parameters were measured in the sera of patients group and healthy groups were interleukin -8 (IL-8) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP).The results revealed a higher significant in all parameters of patients sera compared to healthy groups.
