The Schiff bases (1-10) were synthesized by the reaction of cefixime with aldehydes derivatives. The characterization of Schiff bases were carried out, by using spectroscopic techniques including IR, U.V – Vis, H1-NMR, EI-MS along with elemental analyses (C.H.N.).
An attempt was made to determine the insect parasites of cockroaches in Iraq. As a result of this survey three species of Hymenoptera representing two separate families, which have been reared from ootheca of cockroaches were recovered. These were: Evania dimidiata Fabricius, Evania appendigaster (Linnaeus) (Evaniidae) and Anastatus longicornis sp. n. (Eupelmidae) which described here as a new species from Iraq.

The fruits considered in this study were kiwi, guava, black grape, strawberry, apple, and pineapple. The inorganic phosphate content of the juices was determined by a colorimetric method using a UV/VIS spectrophotometer. Among the fresh juices, the highest inorganic phosphate content was measured for black grape juice (17.330 ±0.068 mg/L), and among the canned juices, the highest inorganic phosphate was measured for black grape canned juice too (16.020 ±0.141 mg/L, brand 3). In the current study, gold nanoparticles were made using Acinetobacter baumannii broth culture. UV-vis, FTIR, XRD, FESEM, AMF, and zeta potential measurements were also used to study the properties of the Ab-AuNPs. The average was 66 nm, ranging from 20 to 90 nm.
