Corrosion and Corrosion Inhibition of α-Brass by Thiourea

The corrosion behavior and corrosion inhibition of α-brass (65.3% Cu, 34.4% Zn and others 0.3%) in 0.6 mol.dm-3 NaCl solution have been investigated using potentiostatic polarization technique, the main results obtained were expressed in terms of corrosion (Ec) and corrosion current (ic). The research was performed in neutral and slightly acidic media [pH=7 and pH=4] over the temperature range (288-318)K. It was found that the rate of corrosion increases with the increase of acidity and the increase of temperature. The rate of corrosion increased with the increase of temperature in conformity with Arrhenius equation. Values of activation energy (Ea*), pre-exponential factor (A) and entropy of activation (∆S*) have been derived for the corrosion process. Also the thermodynamic quantities (∆G, ∆S and ∆H) have been determined for the process. The inhibition effect of thiourea on the corrosion of α-brass in chloride solution was studied, and it was found that the addition of thiourea to the chloride solution caused a decrease in the values of corrosion current density and changed to some extent the values of kinetic parameters. The values of (Ea) increases in the presence of thiourea, this means that the decrease of the concentration of thiourea

Synthesis , Characterization and Biological Evaluation of the Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu (II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) IonComplexes with Mixed Ligands (Quinolone Antibiotics and α-Aminonitrile Derivatives)

Quinolones L1 (ciprofloxacin) are manufactured wide range anti-infection agents with great oral ingestion and magnificent bioavailability. Because of the concoction capacities found on their core (a carboxylic corrosive capacity at the 3-position) and much of the time an essential piperazinyl ring (or anothertN-heterocycle) at the 7-positionh and a carbonylvoxygenc atomi atothel 4-positioni) quinolones bind metal particlesiframing buildings which can go about as bidentate. Equilibrium and Thermodynamic Studies of Reactive Orange Dye Biosorption by Garden Grass

The present study aims to evaluate the biosorption of reactive orange dye by using garden grass. Experiments were carried out in a batch reactor to obtain equilibrium and thermodynamic data. Experimental parameters affecting the biosorption process such as pH, shaking time, initial dye concentrations, and temperature were thoroughly examined. The optimum pH for removal was found to be 4. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis indicated that the electronegative groups on the surface of garden grass were the major groups responsible for the biosorption process. Four sorption isotherm models were employed to analyze the experimental data of which Temkin and Pyzhey model was found to be most suitable one. The maxim

SYNTHESIS OF ZNO QUANTUM DOT BY SELF ASSEMBLY METHOD AND ZNO NANOROD BY HYDROTHERMAL METHOD

In this work, ZnO quantum dots (Q.dots) and nanorods were prepared. ZnO quantum dots were prepared by self-assembly method of zinc acetate solution with KOH solution, while ZnO nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal method of zinc nitrate hexahydrate Zn (NO3)2.6H2O with hexamethy lenetetramin (HMT) C6H12N4. The optical , structural and spectroscopic properties of the product quantum dot were studied. The results show the dependence of the optical properties on the crystal dimension and the formation of the trap states in the energy band gap. The deep levels emission was studied for n-ZnO and p-ZnO. The preparation ZnO nanorods show semiconductor behavior of p-type, which is a difficult process by doping because native defects.

Investigation of Sn(IV) and Sn(II) by dianionicligand compounds Supported by Nitrogen-Based Ligands

Synthetic routes to a series of tin compounds incorporating nitrogen-based
chelating ligands are described. The β-diketiminato tin chloride precursor was
utilized to isolate the first tin-phosphorus tin compound using this ligand,
[(HC{C(Me)NAr}2)SnPPh2]. A diamide ligand was employed to investigate tin (II)
and (IV) compounds. Two tin (II) and (IV) compounds, [(Me2Si{ArN}2)SnPh2] and
[Li(OEt)2](Me2Si{ArN}2)SnPh2], were formed via reaction of the lithiated
preligand, [Me2Si{ArNLi}2]+Sn(IV). Finally a novel Sn(II) N-heterocyclic
stannylene compound was formed by reaction of the preligand with SnCl4.
The diamide ligand was found to be suitable for both Sn(IV) and Sn(II)
compounds. Reaction to obtain the tin dich

Regulation of Appetite and Satiety by Gastrointestinal Peptides

In recent decades, global obesity has increased significantly, causing a major health problem with associated complications and major socioeconomic issues. The central nervous system (CNS), particularly the hypothalamus, regulates food intake through sensing the metabolic signals of peripheral organs and modulating feeding behaviors.  The hypothalamus interacts with other brain regions such as the brain stem to perform these vital functions. The gut plays a crucial role in controlling food consumption and energy homeostasis. The gut releases orexigenic and anorexigenic hormones that interact directly with the CNS or indirectly through vagal afferent neurons. Gastrointestinal peptides (GIP) including cholecystokinin, peptide YY, Nesf
