Simulation Expirment for Proofing the Theoretical Assumption of Time Complexity for Binary Search Tree

      It is frequently asserted that an advantage of a binary search tree implementation of a set over linked list implementation is that for reasonably well balanced binary search trees the average search time (to discover whether or not a particular element is present in the set) is O(log N) to the base 2 where N is the number of element in the set (the size of the tree).  This paper presents an experiment for measuring and comparing the obtained binary search tree time with the expected time (theoretical), this experiment proved the correctness of the hypothesis, the experiment is carried out using a program in turbo Pascal with recursion technique implementation and a statistical method  to prove the above hypothesis. Search time is estimated by the number of comparisons needed.

In cognitive radio system, the spectrum sensing has a major challenge in needing a sensing method, which has a high detection capability with reduced complexity. In this paper, a low-cost hybrid spectrum sensing method with an optimized detection performance based on energy and cyclostationary detectors is proposed. The method is designed such that at high signal-to-noise ratio SNR values, energy detector is used alone to perform the detection. This paper proposes a novel finite-time generalized proportional integral observer (FTGPIO) based a sliding mode control (SMC) scheme for the tracking control problem of high order uncertain systems subject to fast time-varying disturbances. For this purpose, the construction of the controller consists of two consecutive steps. First, the novel FTGPIO is designed to observe unmeasurable plant dynamics states and disturbance with its higher time derivatives in finite time rather than infinite time as in the standard GPIO. The simulation study has been conducted for the harmonics of Nd: YAG laser, namely the second harmonic generation SHG, the third harmonic generation THG, and the fourth harmonic generation FHG. Determination of beam expander's expansion ratio for specific wavelength and given detection range is the key in beam expander design for determining minimum laser spot size at the target.
