Producing Hydrogen Energy Using Cr2O3-TiO2 Nanocomposite with Animal (Chitosan) Extract via Photocatalaysis

In this study, an efficient photocatalyst for water splitting was developed. The Cr2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles (Cr2O3-TNPs) nanocomposite with (Chitosan extract) was created using ecologically friendly methods, such as the impregnation technique as TiO2 exhibits nano spherical (TNPs) shape structure. According to the researchers, this nanocomposite material enhanced its ability to absorb ultraviolet light while also speeding up the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes. The TNPs and prepared Cr2O3-TNPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and UV-visible absorbance. The XRD of TNPs showed a Tetragonal phase with 8.9 nm of average crystallite size and 14.2 nm for nanocomposite. FE-SEM images showed that the average particle size in the range of (12.5-57.5) nm and UV-VIS absorbance has energy gap of 3.8 eV, while the energy gap of Cr2O3-TNPs is 2.8 eV. It was found that the performance of photocatalysts of the nanocomposite for hydrogen generation was superior. It gave the highest rate of hydrogen production (3.6) ml at 80 min when exposed to ultraviolet light. Moreover, the nanocomposite revealed high H2 production rate under ultraviolt light irradiation (λ < 400 nm). The Cr2O3-TNps have high photocatalytic effectiveness due to their wide ultraviolt light photoresponse range and excellent separation of photogenerated electrons and holes.

The Spectrophotometric Determination of Olanzapine via Coupling with Diazotized p-Nitroaniline

A new spectrophotometric method has been developed for the assay of olanzapine (OLN.) in pure and dosage forms. The method is based on the diazocoupling of (OLN.) with diazotized p-nitroaniline in alkaline medium to form a stable brown colored water-soluble azo dye with a maximum absorption at 405 nm.  The variables that affect the completion of reaction have been carefully optimized. Beer’s law is obeyed over the concentration range of (0.5-45.0 μg.mL-1) with a molar absorptivity of 1.5777×104 L.mol-1.cm-1.  The limit of detection was  0.3148  Î¼g.mL-1 and  Sandell’s  sensitivity value was 0.0198 μg.cm-2. Study FTIR and AC Conductivity of Nanocomposite Electrolytes

In the present work polymer electrolytes were formulated using the solvent casting technique. Under special conditions, the electrolyte content was of fixed ratio of polyvinylpyrolidone (PVP): polyacrylonitrile (PAN) (25:75), ethylene carbonate (EC) and propylene carbonate (PC) (1:1) with 10% of potassium iodide (KI) and iodine I2 = 10% by weight of KI. The conductivity was increased with the addition of ZnO nanoparticles. It is also increased with the temperature increase within the range (293 to 343 K). The conductivity reaches maximum value of about (0.0296 S.cm-1) with (0.25 g) ZnO. The results of FTIR for blend electrolytes indicated a significant degree of interaction between the polymer blend (PVP and PAN)

Photocatalytic Decolorization of Crystal Violate Dye Solution by ZnO/MWCNT Nanocomposite

By extracting crystal violate dye (CV) from its aqueous solution, the photocatalytic decolorization performance of ZnO/MWCNT nanocomposite was evaluated. The nanocomposite was prepared by precipitation of ZnO and incorporates on the surface of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT). ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized using the sol gel process with MWCNT acting as a template. They were then analyzed by XRD, SEM, and TEM, which revealed how the shape of the spherical nano ZnO interacts with the point of zero charge (pzc), which allows us to see the physical attributes. In the dipping photoreactor, which included a slurry of dye solution and ZnO/MWCNT nanocomposite, the effectiveness of decolorization was assessed. The photodecolori

Energy Saving of Heat Gain by Using Buried Pipe Inside a Roof

Abstract

This work deals with a numerical investigation to evaluate the utilization of a water pipe buried inside a roof to reduce the heat gain and minimize the transmission of heat energy inside the conditioning space in summer season.     The numerical results of this paper showed that the reduction in heat gain and energy saving could be occurred with specific values of parameters, like the number of pipes per square meter, the ratio of pipe diameter to the roof thickness, and the pipe inlet water temperature. Comparing with a normal roof (without pipes), the results indicated a significant reduction in energy heat gain which is about 37.8% when the number of pipes per m

Using Nanoparticles for Enhance Thermal Conductivity of Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage

Phase change materials (PCMs) such as paraffin wax can be used to store or release large amount of energy at certain temperature at which their solid-liquid phase changes occurs. Paraffin wax that used in latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) has low thermal conductivity. In this study, the thermal conductivity of paraffin wax has been enhanced by adding different mass concentration (1wt.%, 3wt.%, 5wt.%) of (TiO2) nano-particles with about (10nm) diameter. It is found that the phase change temperature varies with adding (TiO2) nanoparticles in to the paraffin wax. The thermal conductivity of the composites is found to decrease with increasing temperature. The increase in thermal conductivity ha

New Method for Determination of Molybdenum(VI) through Flow Injection Analysis Via the Consumption of Liberated Oxygen from Reaction System Ammonia-Hydrogen peroxide-Molybdenum(VI) in the Presence of Pyrogallol

This piece of research work aims to study one of the most difficult reaction and determination due to continuous and rapid variation of reaction products and the reactants. As molybdenum (VI) aid in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide in alkaline medium of ammomia, thus means a continuous liberation of oxygen which cuases and in a continuous manner a distraction in the measurement process. On this basis pyrogallol was used to absorbe all liberated oxygen and the result is an a clean undisturbed signals. Molybdenum (VI) was determined in the range of 4-100 ?g.ml-1 with percentage linearity of 99.8% or (4-300 ?g.ml-1 with 94.4%) while L.O.D. was 3.5 ?g.ml-1. Interferring ions (cations and anions) were studied and their main effect was red

Improving the BURT’s Sensitivity using Noise Calibration Unit via Crab Nebula Observations

Radio observations from astronomical sources like supernovae became one the most important sources of information about the physical properties of those objects. However, such radio observations are affected by various types of noise such as those from sky, background, receiver, and the system itself. Therefore, it is essential to eliminate or reduce these undesired noise from the signals in order to ensure accurate measurements and analysis of radio observations. One of the most commonly used methods for reducing the noise is to use a noise calibrator. In this study, the 3-m Baghdad University Radio Telescope (BURT) has been used to observe crab nebula with and without using a calibration unit in order to investigate its impact on the sign
