PVC/Kaolinite composites were prepared by the melt intercalation method. Mechanical properties, thermal properties, flammability and water absorption percentage of prepared samples were tested. Mechanical characteristic such as tensile strength, elongation at break; hardness and impact strength (charpy type) were measured for all samples. It was found that the tensile strength and elongation at break of PVC composites decreased with increasing kaolinite loading. A case–control study (80 patients with chronic hepatitis B virus [HBV] infection and 96 controls) was performed to evaluate the association of an IL12A gene variant (rs582537 A/C/G) with HBV infection. Allele G showed a signifcantly lower frequency in patients compared to controls (31.2 vs. 46.9%; probability [p]=0.009; corrected p [pc]=0.027) and was associated with a lower risk of HBV infection (odds ratio [OR]=0.49; 95% confdence interval [CI]=0.29–0.83). This study was aimed to determine the mutations and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in exon 3 and 7 of estrogen receptor beta (ESR2) gene in women with breast cancer from Iraq. Alloy of (HgTe) has been prepared succesful in evacuated qurtz ampoule at pressure 4×10-5torr, and melting temperature equal to 823K for five days. Thin films of HgTe of thickness 1μm were deposited on NaCl crystal by thermal evaporation technique at room temperature under vacuum about 4×10-5torr as well as investiagtion in the optical porperties included (absorption coefficient , energy gap) of HgTe films and The optical measurements showed that HgTe film has direct energy gap equal to 0.05 eV.
