Role of Extracted Genomic DNA on Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae in vitro
...Show More Authors

Bacteria form complex and highly elaborate surface adherent communities known as biofilms.Biofilm have been shown to be associated with several human diseases ,and to colonize a wide variety of medical devices . The current study focuses on contribution of extracted genomic   DNA in  biofilm formation by   P. aeruginosa and  K. pneumoniae isolates   .The percentages of Pseudomonas aeruginosa recovery from drinking water  in this study were  10%(20 positive P. aeruginosa  samples ) and K. pneumonia.,  7%(14 positive K. pneumonia samples). The results showed that all P.aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae isolates (100%) were slime producer but in different degrees by forming  of black colonies on congored agar: very  black colonies , black colonies  and red colonies  .Results  indicated that addition of extracted genomic   DNA to microtitre-plate cultures stimulate biofilm formation(either endogenous or exogenous DNA).

The role of ferric citrate in a sample of Iraqi patients on hemodialysis- A randomized controlled clinical trial
...Show More Authors

Background: Uncontrolled hyperphosphatemia is the main difficulty facing staff treating patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. Sevelamer and calcium-containing phosphate binders have been associated with cost burden and tissue calcification, respectively. Therefore, the current trial was targeted to investigate the efficacy of a new phosphate binder, ferric citrate, in a sample of Iraqi patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. Keywords: Ferric citrate, Hemodialysis Phosphate binder

The Mediating Role of Operations Management Practices on the Relationship Between the Dimensions of Manufacturing Flexibility and Competitiveness
...Show More Authors

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine knowing the real role and impact of manufacturing flexibility on competitiveness through operations management practices, which is to determine the role and impact of manufacturing flexibility on competitiveness directly in the General Company for the Battery Industry. On the other hand, identifying the indirect role of flexible manufacturing systems in enhancing competitiveness.   Theoretical framework: The main purpose of the theoretical framework is to identify all the dimensions and variables included in the current study, and thus form a deep scientific view of the study and its variables.   Design/methodology/approach: field coexistence, personal interviews, and classification of

Role of Foliar Nutrition with Zinc and Boron on Some Growth Parameters of Chickpea Plant (Cicer arietinum L.).
...Show More Authors

The experiment was carried out in the wooden canopy in the green garden of Biology Department , College of Education for Pure Science – Ibn AL –Haitham, Baghdad University, during the growing season of 2012- 2013 , to study the influence of foliar application of three concentrations of zinc  (0,50,75)mg. L ¯¹  with four concentrations of boron (0, 25, 50, 75) mg. L¯¹ and their interactions on some growth parameters of vegetative part of chickpea plant. The experiment was designed according to Randomized Completely Block  Design(RCBD)with three replications, results indicated that:- 1- Foliar application of zinc  and boron caused a significant increase in the averaye of dry weight for t

Depositional environment of the Sarmord Formation (Valanginian-Aptian) in selected areas, northeastern Iraq
...Show More Authors

The current study deals with microfacies and the depositional environment of the Lower Cretaceous Sarmord Formation at selected sections in Sulaimani and Erbil Governorates, northern Iraq. The Sarmord Formation alternates rhythmically between yellowish grey marly limestones and grey black marls. These lithologies are observed in all studied sections of Sarmord Formation in northern Iraq. Petrographic investigation of this study based on 240 thin sections demonstrated that the carbonate constituents are mainly composed of skeletal and non-skeletal grains. The skeletal grains include a variety of foraminiferas (planktonic and benthonic), bioclasts, calcispheres, ostracods, radiolaria, echinoderms, sponge spicules, ammonoids and be

Biostratigraphy of Hartha Formation from Selected Wells in Nasiriyah Oil Field, Southern Iraq
...Show More Authors

The Hartha Formation has been investigated from a biostratigraphic view in three subsurface sections in the Nasiriyah Oil field, wells Ns1, Ns3, and Ns4, South of Iraq. Hartha Formation is composed of limestone and has various areas of intense dolomitization alternating with marly limestone. The formation ranges in thickness from 126 to 182 meters. Thirteen large and small benthic foraminifer species and genera are identified from Hartha Formation. Based on the large benthic foraminifer's assemblage, one distinct biozone was recognized after an examination of the paleontological datum in the investigated area showed that the studied wells contained a diversity of foraminiferal species, the larger foraminifers biozone was propose

Biostratigraphy of the Jeribe Formation at Selected Sections in Wasit Governorate, Eastern Iraq
...Show More Authors

The present study is concerned with Biostratigraphy of the Early-Middle Miocene outcrops of Jeribe Formation in the Zurbatiyah area, Wasit Governorate, Eastern Iraq. Forty-two Samples collected from Shur Sharin and AL-Hashima outcrop sections. The fossil content is rich in large and small benthic foraminifera; Twenty-one species and genus are identified in this study, in addition to coral, gastropoda, pelecypoda, ostracoda, alge, echinoid and shell fragments. According to the presence of benthic foraminifera, two Biozone have been identified in the Jeribe: Austrotrillina asmariensis-Dendritina rangi Concurrent Zone and Borelis melo curdica range zone. The age of the Formation determined as Early-Middle Miocene depending on these Bioz

Seismic Structural Interpretation Study of Mishrif Formation in Nasiriyah Oil Field Southwestern Iraq
...Show More Authors

Seismic data interpretation study has been done for Mishrif Formation in Nasiriyah oil field at the southern part of Iraq in order to update the structural image of Mishrif reservoir which is currently the main unit bearing the oil in subsurface area covered about (447) km2. This study is achieved by using Petrel, IP, and other approval software. Seismic to well tie method in conventional qualitative interpretation used to re-identify the top and bottom of the Mishrif reservoir which converted into structural depth maps and then followed by constructing and developing 3-D structural model helped to understand the vertical and lateral thickness extensions heterogeneity of Mishrif Formation in the field. The cap rock (CRI) has thickness ra
