The species Cyclops varicans G.O.Sars (Which was recorded for the first time in Iraq ) was chossen to study the effect of photoperiods on the species reproduction growth . The chossen photoperiods were 0:24 , 12: 12 , and 24 : 0  L.D.  The data showed obvious statistical effect of photoperiods specially  24 : 0   L.D. on the mean of clutch size ,  produced eggs , no. of nauplei  , transformation time of  nauplius I to copepodid I and transformation time of copepodid I to adult stage .           Physicochemical characteristics of groundwater in AL-Miqdadiyah town were studied by taking random water samples from six differents wells from July to December 2010. The results were compared with the international standards for drinking-water of WHO and FAO and the iraqian limits . Fourteen parameters were analysed.       From September 2002 to August 2003 monthly samples of fish were collected from two stations at the area of study.         The results of the present study showed that the sex-ratio (male: female) was 1:0.95.       Sexual maturity was reached by all fishes above 28 cm in total length , the smallest mature male was 21.3 cm in total length and body weight 164 gm.
