An experiment was conducted at the laboratories of College of Agriculture – Kerbala University during 2016. The aim of this study was to the effect of water extracts of medicinal plants germination percentage and development of plumule and radicle growth .The completely randomized design with three replicates was usedin each experiment consisted of water extracts (T1= Distilled water),(T2= Eruca sativa Eruca sativa L),(T3= Fenugreek ﺍﻟﺤﻠﺒﺔTrigonella foenum - graecum L),(T4= Sweet FennelFoeniculum vulgare.Mill),(T5=Borage Anchusa strigosa Lab),(T6=Dill Anethum graveolens L) ,(T7=Black cuminNigella Sativa L),(T8=Cumin Cuminumcyminum L),(T9=  CorianderCoriandrum sativum L. ). Four local hemolysin producer bacterial isolates were selected, tow of them gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa ) and the other two were gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus , Bacillus cereus ). Minimum inhibitory concentration of the aqueous and alcoholic extracts of Punica granatum L. pericarp were determined towards the four bacterial isolates ,results obtaind showed that MICs of the aqueous extract were 200 mg/ml for E .coli and P. aeruginosa isolates while were 5 mg/ml and 2 mg/ml for B. cereus, S. aureus , respectively The MICs for the ethanolic extract were 50 mg/ml , 20 mg/ml ,1 mg/ml ,0.5 mg/ml for E. coli ,P. aeruginosa ,B. cereus ,S. aureus , respectively. This work is the first study of the Curculionoidea fauna from Kurdistan region of Iraq, based on the intensive survey in different localities of Kurdistan from March 2016 to November 2017. In total, 41 species belonging to 28 genera, 21 tribes and 3 families were collected and identified, including 25 species newly recorded for the Iraqi fauna.
