Ebonite linings Based on Natural and Synthetic Rubber

The corrosion of metals is of great economic importance. Estimates show that the quarter of the iron and the steel produced is destroyed in this way. Rubber lining has been used for severe corrosion protection because NR and certain synthetic rubbers have a basic resistance to the very corrosive chemicals particularly acids. The present work includes producing ebonite from both natural and synthetic rubbers ; therefore, the following materials were chosen to produce ebonite rubber: a) Natural rubber (NR). b) Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR). c) Nitrile rubber (NBR). d) Neoprene rubber (CR) [WRT]. The best ebonite vulcanizates are obtained in the presence of 30 Pphr sulfur, and carbon black as reinforcing filler. The relation between the types of rubbers used alone or as blends was investigated and optimum formulations have been achieved. Blending of NR with SBR, NBR, and WRT enhances the mechanical properties. For the blend of NBR and SBR, the mechanical properties are enhanced with increasing the proportion of SBR in the blend. Blends of WRT with NR, SBR, and NBR enhance the mechanical properties of WRT compounds. The effect of chemical resistance on rubbers and blends were also studied.

Diagnosis and Classification of Type II Diabetes based on Multilayer Neural Network

Diabetes is considered by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a main health problem globally. In recent years, the incidence of Type II diabetes mellitus was increased significantly due to metabolic disorders caused by malfunction in insulin secretion. It might result in various diseases, such as kidney failure, stroke, heart attacks, nerve damage, and damage in eye retina. Therefore, early diagnosis and classification of Type II diabetes is significant to help physician assessments.

The proposed model is based on Multilayer Neural Network using a dataset of Iraqi diabetes patients obtained from the Specialized Center for Endocrine Glands and Diabetes Diseases. The investigation includes 282 samples, o

Arabic Speech Classification Method Based on Padding and Deep Learning Neural Network

Deep learning convolution neural network has been widely used to recognize or classify voice. Various techniques have been used together with convolution neural network to prepare voice data before the training process in developing the classification model. However, not all model can produce good classification accuracy as there are many types of voice or speech. Classification of Arabic alphabet pronunciation is a one of the types of voice and accurate pronunciation is required in the learning of the Qur’an reading. Thus, the technique to process the pronunciation and training of the processed data requires specific approach. To overcome this issue, a method based on padding and deep learning convolution neural network is proposed to

A Parallel Clustering Analysis Based on Hadoop Multi-Node and Apache Mahout

The conventional procedures of clustering algorithms are incapable of overcoming the difficulty of managing and analyzing the rapid growth of generated data from different sources. Using the concept of parallel clustering is one of the robust solutions to this problem. Apache Hadoop architecture is one of the assortment ecosystems that provide the capability to store and process the data in a distributed and parallel fashion. In this paper, a parallel model is designed to process the k-means clustering algorithm in the Apache Hadoop ecosystem by connecting three nodes, one is for server (name) nodes and the other two are for clients (data) nodes. The aim is to speed up the time of managing the massive sc

Design and Simulation of parallel CDMA System Based on 3D-Hadamard Transform

Future wireless systems aim to provide higher transmission data rates, improved spectral efficiency and greater capacity. In this paper a spectral efficient two dimensional (2-D) parallel code division multiple access (CDMA) system is proposed for generating and transmitting (2-D CDMA) symbols through 2-D Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) channel to increase the transmission speed. The 3D-Hadamard matrix is used to generate the 2-D spreading codes required to spread the two-dimensional data for each user row wise and column wise. The quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) is used as a data mapping technique due to the increased spectral efficiency offered. The new structure simulated using MATLAB and a comparison of performance for ser

Preparation and studying of some properties of polymer composites reinforced with natural and artificial fibers

This work concerns the thermal and sound insulation as well as the mechanical properties of polymer matrix composite reinforced with glass fibers. These fibers may have dangerous effect during handling, for example the glass fibers might cause some damage to the eyes, lungs and even skin. For this reason the present work, investigates the behavior of polymer composite reinforced with natural fibers (Plant fibers) as replacement to glass fibers. Unsaturated Polyester resin was used as matrix material reinforced with two types of fibers, one of them is artificial (Glass fibers) and the other type is natural (Jute, Fronds Palm and Reed Fibers) by hand lay-up technique. All fibers are untreated with any chemical solvent. The Percentage of mi

Measurement and Analysis of Natural Radioactive Elements in Salty Sediments from Central and Southern Iraq

Purification of fifteen NaCl samples from natural and different area in the middle and south of Iraq are prepared  and studied the structural characteristics of samples by powder X-ray diffraction analysis at 𝛌=1.542Ã…. The present work considered the specific activities of naturally occurring radioactive materials in salt samples, which are measured and analyzed using high resolution HPGe system. Also, the radiological parameters have been considered in this work. The average specific concentration (in Bq.kg-1) of the salt samples is found 16.864.92 for 226Ra, 5.972.05 for 232Th and 9.852.8 for 40K, respectively, which are below the national levels, 40Bq.kg-1, 30Bq.k

Undergraduate Research Impact on Students' Retention and Academic Development Based on Their Study Field and the Mentoring Approach

The impact of undergraduate research experiences on students' academic development and retention in STEM fields is significant. Students' success in STEM fields is based on developing strong research and critical thinking skills that make it essential for students to engage in research activities throughout their academic programs. This work evaluates the effectiveness of undergraduate research experiences with respect to its influence on student retention and academic development. The cases presented are based on years of experience implementing undergraduate research programs in various STEM fields at Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) funded by HSI STEM Grants. The study seeks to establish a correlation between students' reten

Molecular Crystals And Liquid Crysta
Synthesis and characterization of symmetrical liquid crystalline compounds based on oxazole and thaizole rings

Twelve compounds containing a sulphur- or oxygen-based heterocyclic core, 1,3- oxazole or 1,3-thiazole ring with hydroxy, methoxy and methyl terminal substituent, were synthesized and characterized. The molecular structures of these compounds were performed by elemental analysis and different spectroscopic tequniques. The liquid crystalline behaviors were studied by using hot-stage optical polarizing microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. All compounds of 1,4- disubstituted benzene core with oxazole ring display liquid crystalline smectic A (SmA) mesophase. The compounds of 1,3- and 1,4-disubstituted benzene core with thiazole ring exhibit exclusively enantiotropic nematic liquid crystal phases.

Object Tracking and matching in a Video Stream based on SURF and Wavelet Transform

In computer vision, visual object tracking is a significant task for monitoring
applications. Tracking of object type is a matching trouble. In object tracking, one
main difficulty is to select features and build models which are convenient for
distinguishing and tracing the target. The suggested system for continuous features
descriptor and matching in video has three steps. Firstly, apply wavelet transform on
image using Haar filter. Secondly interest points were detected from wavelet image
using features from accelerated segment test (FAST) corner detection. Thirdly those
points were descripted using Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF). The algorithm
of Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) has been employed and impl
