Age and growth of a population of Varicorhinus trutta (Heckel) from Tigris river at Salahuldin province have been investigated during the period from September 1999 to August 2000. A total of 156 fishes were collected from two stations at Tigris river using small meshed gill nets. The age data revealed that the species under investigation reached to a maximum age of seven years and approximately 46 cm long. The population of this species in Tigris river at the sites of study was dominated by 3 and 4 years classes. There were no marked differences in growth or longevity between the sexes. Determination of length-weight relationship revealed that the growth of both sexes in the species under investigation was allometric and the values of both sexes showed that there were clear relationships between the maturity stage and condition factor values as the highest values appeared during the breeding season months (March till July).

In the present study the radon concentration was measured in indoor places by the RAD7 (radon detector) was in some locations at Al-Tuwaitha nuclear site and some surrounding areas for the duration from 13/10/2016 to 2/1/2017 and the measurement of the indoor radon concentration ranged from (4.96±4.4 to 102±25) Bq/m3. The current study dealt with the effect of water extract of pomegranate peel plant on Oscillatoria amoena growth that isolated from Diwaniya river, The effect of the pomegranate extract was measured by calculating the total number of cells and the absorbance values of the alga. Three concentrations were used 3.5, 7 and 14 mg/ml from extract of pomegranate fruit peel in addition to the control group. The results showed that exposing the alga to concentrate 14 mg/ml led to lower growth sharply, while the rest of the concentrations 3.5 and 7 mg/ml also decreased the growth gradually. The absorbance values showed a decline similar to the number of cells during the period of the exposure.

An attempt was made to evaluate the PV performance of one-axis daily tracking and fixed system for Baghdad, Iraq. Two experimental simulations were conducted on a PV module for that purpose. Measurements included incident solar radiation, load voltage and load current. The first experiment was carried out for six months of winter half of year to simulate the one-axis daily tracking. The azimuth angle was due south while the tilt angle was being set to optimum according to each day of simulation. The second experiment was done at one day to simulate the PV module of fixed angles.
