The thermal properties of four nematogenic Schiff’s bases, n-butyl-to-n-heptyl of bis (4-n-alkyloxybenzylidine)-2,3,5.6- tetramethyl-1, 4-phenylenediamine, have been studied. The transition temperatures and enthalpies of transition were examined by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). Several correlations were carried out; those included the relations between transition temperatures, enthalpies and entropies of transition with increasing the
number of carbon atoms in the terminal alkyl chains. In addition, new regular relations were found between the ratio of the enthalpies and of the entropies, for noematic-isotropic transition and crystal-isotropic transition ( ΔΗÎ-i/AHC-I, ΔSN-1/ ASC-I ), with increasing terminal alkyl chain lengths. Many interesting conclusions, concerning the relation
between the anisotropic molecular shape and the thermal properties of the above nematogens, have been arrived at.
Medicines comprising fosfomycin are prescribed for urinary tract infections. These drugs are available for oral use as tromethamine and calcium, while fosfomycin-sodium and disodium are given for intravenous (IV) and intramuscular (IM). Many quantitative analytical methods have been reported to estimate Fosfomycin in blood, urine, plasma, serum, and pharmaceutical dosage formulations. Some techniques were spectrophotometric, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, and electrochemical methods. Here we perform a rapid narrative review that discusses and comparison between them of various analytical methods for the determination of Fosfomycin-containing drugs.

The purpose of this study is to underline the progression and development of research regarding oxygen-containing heterocycles as well as the contribution that some oxygen-containing heterocycles have made as anticancer medicines. A series of publications about the antitumor effects of derivatives of heterocyclic compounds containing an oxygen atom, such as furan, benzofuran, oxazole, benzoxazole, and oxadiazole, were evaluated, and their anticancer activities showed encouraging results when compared to those of established standard treatments.

Materials and methods: One hundred and fifty urine specimens were collected from urinary tract infection patients visiting Baghdad hospitals. The histopathological effects of S. xylosus S24 peptidoglycan was studied in the urinary tract of female mice by injecting 5 animal groups at the following concentrations: 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 µg/mL. The Schiff bases (1-10) were synthesized by the reaction of cefixime with aldehydes derivatives. The characterization of Schiff bases were carried out, by using spectroscopic techniques including IR, U.V – Vis, H1-NMR, EI-MS along with elemental analyses (C.H.N.).
