This study was conducted to evaluate serial concentrations of commercial formulation suspension (Antrol) of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis. As a microbial control agent against Chrysomya albiceps (blow fly) larvae and adults under laboratory conditions. The results revealed that percentages of accumulated mortalities of second instar larvae were 30 - 63.33% for the doses 100 – 2000 ppm respectively , Mortalities rate increased with increased of time, treating larval food with 1000 ppm of bacterial suspension caused mortality rate reached 30% after two days, later reached 72.96% after 12 days. The bio assays results of treating adults food showed that mortalities percentage were 6.67 – 73.33 when their food was treated by 100 – 2000 ppm of bacterial suspension. The results indicated that B. thuringiensis has a potential to be a bio control agent for Ch. albiceps.
Seeds of Nigella sativa were sown in containers containing 15kg Loamy soil. The seeds were divided before sewing into two groups. ABSTRACT : Bacillus cereus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the ability to produce a wide antimicrobial active compounds (Bacillin and S-Pyocin) against pathogenic microorganism. In vitro assay with the antagonists of both crude bacteriocin and partial by precipitation 75% ammonium sulfate showed that the effectively inhibited growth of the following (Candida kefyer and Fusarium spp) and Propionibacterium acnes. Eighty one bacterial isolates were obtained from 53 soil samples of different plants rhizosphere. All the isolated bacterial were screened for antifungal effect against Fusarium oxysporum . Three isolates gave antifungal activity with inhibition zone ranged between (0.5-2.5 cm). Two isolates (Bd1 and Bd2) were Brevundimonas diminuta, while the third (Pf1) was Pseudomonas fluorescence . B. diminuta (Bd1) which used in this study isolated from Raphanus sativus gave the highest inhibition zone against F. oxysporum. Cell free supernatant of B.diminuta(Bd1) was better in antifungal activity than bacterial cells against F. oxysporum.
