This paper concerns is the preparation and characterization of a bidentate ligand [4-(5,5dimethyl-3-oxocyclohex-1-enylamino)-N-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl) benzene sulfonamide].  The ligand was prepared from fusing of sulfamethoxazole and dimedone at (140) ºC for half hour.              The complex was prepared by refluxing the ligand with a bivalent cobalt ion using ethanol as a solvent.             A spectrophotometric- reverse flow injection analysis (rFIA) method has been proposed for the   determination of Nitrazepam (NIT) in pure and pharmaceutical preparations. The method is based upon the coupling reaction of NIT with a new reagent O-Coumaric acid (OCA) in the presence of sodium periodate in an aqueous solution. The blue color product was measured at 632 nm. The variation (chemical and physical parameters) related with reverse flow system were estimated.
