Adsorption of Anionic Dye from Equeous Solution by Modified Synthetic Zeolite
...Show More Authors

The adsorption of Congo red (CR) dye on modified synthetic zeolite 5A  , the general name of which is Linde Type A (LTA)which is modified by amino mercepto thiadiazole (AMT)  and have been characterized  by using fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) , x-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopies, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. In this work Modified zeolite was utilized as adsorbent to remove (CR) dye from aqueous solution by adsorption. Batch experiments were conducted to study the effects contact time , initial concentration of adsorbate and temperature on dye adsorption. The equilibrium adsorption data were analyzed by using several isotherm models ( Freundlich , Langmuir , temkin ,  Dubinin-Radushkevitch  and  Redlich–Peterson )models. The best results were achieved with the Redlich–Peterson isotherm equilibrium model. The equilibrium adsorption capacity (qe) increases with the increase of the initial concentration of dye. The values of qe were found to be decreased with the increase of solution temperatures. The thermodynamic parameters  Î”G°, ΔH° and ΔS° have been calculated.

Removing Cobalt ions from Industrial Wastewater Using Chitosan
...Show More Authors

In batch experiments, a natural chitosan adsorbent was employed to extract cobalt ions from industrial wastewater under varied parameters of starting concentration, adsorbent weight, pH, and contact duration. The adsorbent was examined using FTIR, XRD, and AFM. For an initial cobalt ion concentration of 5x10-2 mol/l at pH 6, time 35 minutes, temperature 25 °C, and adsorbing dose 0.1 g, the results showed a maximum removal percentage of 99.0 percent. The Freundlich isotherm and the pseudo-second order kinetic model both suit the experimental data well. According to thermodynamic studies, the process was spontaneous and endothermic.

An Embedded 5(4) Pair of Optimized Runge-Kutta Method for the Numerical Solution of Periodic Initial Value Problems
...Show More Authors

This paper presents an alternative method for developing effective embedded optimized Runge-Kutta (RK) algorithms to solve oscillatory problems numerically.   The embedded scheme approach has algebraic orders of 5 and 4. By transforming second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) into their first-order counterpart, the suggested approach solves first-order ODEs. The amplification error, phase-lag, and first derivative of the phase-lag are all nil in the embedded pair. The alternative method’s absolute stability is demonstrated. The numerical tests are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed approach in comparison to other RK approaches. The alternative approach outperforms the current RK methods

Effect of Chloride Ions on the Corrosion Behavior of Al – Zn Alloy in NaOH Solution at Four Different Temperatures
...Show More Authors

This research involves study effect of chloride ions in concentration range (0.01 – 0.50 mol.dm-3) on the corrosion behavior of Al-Zn alloy in basic media of 1x10-3 mol.dm-3 NaOH at pH=11 and four different temperatures in the range (298-313 K). Cathodic and anodic Tafel slopes (bc &ba) and transfer coefficients (αc & αa) were calculated and the results interprets according to the variation of the rate – determining steps. The results also indicate that the chloride ions are bonded chemically in the interface as an initial step of formation of different mixed oxohydroxy – and chloro complexes. Polarization resistance (Rp) is calculates

Analytical Solution of Transient Heat Conduction through a Hollow Cylindrical Thermal Insulation Material of a Temperature Dependant Thermal Conductivity
...Show More Authors

The one-dimensional, cylindrical coordinate, non-linear partial differential equation of transient heat conduction through a hollow cylindrical thermal insulation material of a thermal conductivity temperature dependent property proposed by an available empirical
function is solved analytically using Kirchhoff’s transformation. It is assumed that this insulating material is initially at a uniform temperature. Then, it is suddenly subjected at its inner radius with a step change in temperature. Four thermal insulation materials were selected. An identical analytical solution was achieved when comparing the results of temperature distribution with available analytical solution for the same four case studies that assume a constant the

A Nonlinear MIMO-PID Neural Controller Design for Vehicle Lateral Dynamics model based on Modified Elman Neural Network
...Show More Authors

This paper presents a new design of a nonlinear multi-input multi-output PID neural controller of the active brake steering force and the active front steering angle for a 2-DOF vehicle model based on modified Elman recurrent neural. The goal of this work is to achieve the stability and to improve the vehicle dynamic’s performance through achieving the desired yaw rate and reducing the lateral velocity of the vehicle in a minimum time period for preventing the vehicle from slipping out the road curvature by using two active control actions: the front steering angle and the brake steering force. Bacterial forging optimization algorithm is used to adjust the parameters weights of the proposed controller. Simulation resul
