A selective and sensitive spectrophotometric extraction method was established and used to estimate antihypertensive drug, losartan potassium. The method is based on the formation of blue ion pair of the anionic drug, losartan, and the cationic dye, methylene blue, at adjusted pH 6.5 in aqueous solutions, followed by quantitative extraction to dichloromethane;.The observed maximum absorbance was at Ï€ 654.9 nm. With 4.53321 x 10⁵ M^-1 cm^-1 molar absorptivity, Beer's law was obeyed within a concentration range of 0.03-1.5 μg / ml. Light isotopes, especially closed shell nuclei, have significance in thermonuclear reactions of the Carbon-Nitrogen-Oxygen (CNO) cycle in stars. In this research, 12C(p, γ) 13N and 14N(p, γ) 15O reactions have been calculated by means of Matlab codes to find the reaction rate across a temperature range of 0.006 to 10 GK using non-resonant parts, as well as the astrophysical S- factor S(E) at low energies. It was concluded that the high binding energy of 12C and 14N nuclei make the reaction less probable thus enabling other competitive processes to develop, which enhances the probability of other competitive proton reactions in the CNO cycle.

In present study, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of Chlorpyrifos insecticide on carp Cyprinus carpio L. through acute toxicity bioassay. The LC50 were estimated as 1897, 1266, 985 and 792 μg/L during 24 , 48, 72 and 96 hr. respectively by using the concentrations 500 , 1000, 1500 , 2000, 2500 and 3000 μg/L indicating high sensitivity of fish to chlorpyrifos. The behavioral response observed in the fish were erratic swimming, loss of reflex, hyperactivities, decrease in appetite secretion of mucus, increase movement of operculum and hyperventilation . These effects increased with increasing concentration of the chlorpyrifos and duration of exposure.

This work describes the weathering effects (UV-Irradiation, and Rain) on the thermal conductivity of PS, PMMA, PS/PMMA blend for packaging application. The samples were prepared by cast method at different ratios (10, 30, 50, 70, and 90 %wt). It was seen that the thermal conductivity of PMMA (0.145 W/m.K), and for PS(0.095 W/m.K), which increases by PS ratio increase up to 50% PS/PMMA blend then decreased that was attributed to increase in miscibility of the blend involved.
