Effect of Mercury Exposure on the Non Enzymatic Defense System in Workers
...Show More Authors

The role of free radical generation and lipid peroxidation in most diseases as a scientific explanation for development and destractivc process in biological tissues is confirmed.  In this study, an attempt to shed   li ght  on   the  possible  rel ation  between  some  biochemical parameters as a marker lor antioxidant in sera of (40)workers in  the ticld of mercury was investigated. The workers were divided into two

gt-oups according to the_1>_eri odof occupati.On.

Group A                        Occupation period <I 0

C'TTOllj:) B                                  -            >10

GroupC    Healthy control, non exposed to Hg

Some non- enzymatic anuox1dant were mvest•gated in sera of all subjects included in the study (i.e. vit A, Vit C, and Vit E) using HPLC technique, MDA was determined and used as a biochemical marker of LPO(Lipid Pcroxidiation) .

The results indicate lower levels of all vitamins in sera of workers compared to control group. An elevation of MDA was recorded in all workers compared with healthy contwls. The destructive role of free radicals to human organize was confirmed , also leads to imbalance between antioxidants and LPO due to mercury exposure which positively correlate with duration of industrial occupation.

The research aimed at studying the inhibitive effect of the hot watery dry and ethanolic ginger(85%) and fragrant oil which are added in concentrates of o.o25, o.o5o and 0.1g / 100g respectively in the growth of bacteria and molds. The results of the initial chemical diagnosis showed containment of ginger roots extract on. Alkaloids, Glycosides, Flavonoids and Suponins. The highest inhibitive effect of the bacteria reached the concentrate . 0.1% of the oil extract then the concentrate 0.050% of the ethanolic hot extract follows it. While 0.1% was the least inhibitive concentrate for the hot watery extract. But the inhibitive effect of the hot oily and alcoholic extracts in the numbers of molds colonies was 0.025%, when the concentrate 0.1%

Crude Oil Effect on the Clayey Soil Mechanical and Physical Properties
...Show More Authors

Soil defilement with "raw petroleum" is a standout amongst the most across the board and genuine ecological issues going up against both the industrialized and oil country like Iraq. Along these lines, the impact of "raw petroleum" on soil contamination is one of most critical subjects that review these days. The present examination expects to research "unrefined oil"effectson the mechanical and physical properties of clayey soils. The dirt examples were acquired from Al-Doura area in Baghdad city and arranged by the "Brought together Soil Grouping Framework (USCS)" as silty mud of low pliancy (CL). Research center tests were done on contaminated and unpolluted soil tests with same thickness. The dirtied tests are set up by blending

Effect of some plant extracts on germination and seeding of Raphanus sativus and effect on surface growth ofRhizoctonia solani
...Show More Authors

The experiment was conducted to study the effect of leaves extract of Salvia sclarea , Rosmarinus officinalis and Thymus vulgaris with 10% and 30% concentration on germination of seeds and growth of seedlings . The effect of these extracts on infection percentage of seeds decay and surface growth of Rhizoctonia solani . The results showed that the three extracts effected significantly to reduced percentage of seeds germination, acceleration of germination , promoter indicator , infection percentage of seeds decay and surface growth of R. solani especially in 30% concentration .

Fabrication and study the effect of the laser on the properties of the compound Tl2-xHgxBa2-ySryCa2Cu3O10+δ superconductor
...Show More Authors

This study included the fabrication of    compound (Tl2-xHgxBa2-ySryCa2Cu3O10+δ) in a manner solid state and under hydrostatic pressure ( 8 ton/cm2) and temperature annealing(850°C), and determine the effect of the laser on the structural and electrical properties elements in the compound, and various concentrations of x where (x= 0.1,0.2,0.3 ). Observed by testing the XRD The best ratio of compensation for x is 0.2 as the value of a = b = 5.3899 (A °), c = 36.21 (A °) show that the installation of four-wheel-based type and that the best temperature shift is TC= 142 K  .When you shine a CO2 laser o

Design and Construction of a Dust Detection System using Infrared Laser: The Case of Dust Storms in Baghdad in the Summer 2022
...Show More Authors

Iraq suffers from serious pollution with harmful particles that have important direct and indirect effects on human activities and human health. In this research, a system for detecting pollutants in the air was designed and manufactured using infrared laser technology. This system was used to detect the presence of pollutants in the dust storms that swept the city of Baghdad which could have a negative impact on human health and living organisms.

The designed detection system based on the use of infrared laser (IR) with a wavelength of 1064 nm was used for the purposes of detecting pollutants based on the scattering of the laser beam from these pollutants. The system was aligned to obtain the best signal for the scattered rays, w

Influence of Magnetic Force for Peristaltic Transport of Non-Newtonian Fluid Through Porous Medium in Asymmetric Channel
...Show More Authors

In this paper, we study the effects of a magnetic force on the flow of hybrid bio - nano fluid (Cu - Au. NPs) for a peristaltic channel through a porous medium in an asymmetric channel. Nanoparticles of gold and copper as well as the blood (the base fluid) is taken into account. By using the Adomian decomposition method to solve the governing equations, formulas for velocity, stream function, temperature, current density, and magnetic force have been obtained. The findings show that Gold nanoparticles have an elevation magnetic force compared with copper nanoparticles, based on fluid (blood) and hybrid nanofluid. Finally, the phenomenon of trapping is offered as an explanation for the physical behavior of many parameters. The ef

The Effect of Different Types of Aggregate and Additives on the Properties of Self-Compacting Lightweight Concrete
...Show More Authors

The major aim of this research is study the effect of the type of lightweight aggregate (Porcelinite and Thermostone), type and ratio of the pozzolanic material(SF and HRM) and the use of different ratios of w/cm ratio(0.32 and 0.35) on the properties of SCLWC in the fresh and hardened state. SF and HRM are used in three percentage 5%,10%, and 15% as a partial replacement by weight of
cement for all types of SCLWC. The requirements of self-compatibility for SCC are fulfilled by using the high performance superplasticizer (G51) at 1.2liter per 100 kg of cement. The values of air dry density and compressive strength at age of 28 days within the limits of structural lightweight concrete. The air dry density and compressive strength at a

Study the of effect of micro and nanoCadmium Oxide on the hardness test of (epoxy-polyurethane) blend
...Show More Authors

This research includes using epoxy resin and polyurethane resin to form a blend (EP+PU)  with different resin ratios (90 – 10)%, (80 – 20)%, (70 – 30)%, and (60 – 40)% to achieve best ratio for impact strength as a function of better toughness; then reinforced with micro and nano (CdO) with weight fraction (0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08). Mechanical properties were studied including hardness before and after exposure to UV irradiation. Results showed that the composite (nano CdO+ blend) had better properties compared with (micro CdO+ blend) composite. Also hardness show increases with increasing the weight fraction for all samples.
