Hislopathalogical Changes in the Testes and Epididymis of Mice Fed with Cadmium Chloride
...Show More Authors

The  present   research   was  conducted   to  determine   the  effect  of Cadmium   Chlori de  on  the  t  stes  and  epididymis  of  white  mice  fed with  diffl rent  concentration     (75,  1 00 150  ppm)  of this hea  y metal for three,   ix and nine days. The r   ults showed  that cadm i um chloride caused   s  vera!  histopathalogical  change in  testes  and  epidid   mis in  luding deg  neration and cell necrosis  in addition  to the appearanc of  haemorrhage and o  dema  in the tissues . It was clear that the effect increased  in r  lation with the concentration and the treatment  period.

Bioequivalence and Pharmacokinetics Comparison of Two Formulations of Extended-Release Pentoxifylline Tablets in Healthy Subjects after Fasting and Fed Conditions
...Show More Authors

The pharmacokinetics and bioequivalence of a newly developed extended-released (ER) tablet containing 400 mg pentoxifylline as a test product was compared with the reference brand product Trental® 400 mg ER tablet produced by Sanofi-Aventis. Two separate studies were conducted simultaneously. The first study was conducted under fasting condition, whereas, the second study was conducted under fed condition; using the same batches of the test and reference products in both studies. In each study, both products were administered to 32 healthy male adult volunteers applying a single-dose, two-treatment, two-period, two-sequence, randomized crossover design with one-week washout period between dosing. Twenty two blood samples we

Physiological Changes of Thyroid Hormones in Women with Osteoporosis in Iraq / Basra Province
...Show More Authors

Osteoporosis is described as sickness due to fading bone mass and microarchitecture spoilage of bone tissue leads to consolidation bone fragility and increase risk of fracture. The relationship between osteoporosis and thyroid is important by of the skeleton bones in turnout of circulating physical thyroid hormone and TSH condensation to reduced bone mineral loss in osteoporosis patients, also researcher derives that hormone thyroid and TSH scale increased bone resorption, by increase bone mineral deposition. (110) patients female transfer from provincial and civilian habitation, their ages between (55-75) years old, they pay a visit to DEXA station to measure the density. The samples of blood after diagnosis of disease were taken, then

Detection of Cadmium and Chromium in some Facial Cosmetics
...Show More Authors

This study was done to compare among 120 new and used cosmetic brands to determine the heavy metals concentrations (Cadmium, Chromium) in (face foundation, powder and blushers). Sixty new cosmetic products were bought from local markets in Baghdad city (twenty different brands foe each cosmetic products), while sixty used cosmetic products were collected from Iraqi women and they had been stored for a long time. This study proved that not all analyzed cosmetic products containing heavy metals concentrations and all concentrations are under Iraqi acceptable limits except one new blusher product which contained chromium with (28 ppm), but all used cosmetic products have shown better results in concentrations of heavy metals than new produc

The Study of the Effect of Sodium Nitroprusside in Anxiety-Like Behavior in Mice in Comparison With Diazepam
...Show More Authors

Anxiety has become a highly paramount field of research attention in psychopharmacology today. Sundry studies have shown a nitric oxide role in the regulation of anxiety. The goal of the study was to investigate sodium nitroprusside ability to affect anxiety-like behavior in mice and to compare this effect with the standard anxiolytic drug, diazepam, using both plus maze test and light/dark box test. The results revealed that sodium nitroprusside at a dose of 1 mg/kg had a significant effect on the behavior in both of the elevated plus maze test and light/dark test. However, at higher dose (3 mg/kg), it has significantly increased the anxiogenic-like effect in the light/dark box test. Diazepam at a dose of 2 mg/kg increased the time spen

Do low back pain changes correlate with sagittal lumbar alignment changes after total hip replacement arthroplasty?
...Show More Authors

Abstract Background: The hip joint and lumbar spine are both anatomically and functionally closely related as had shown by many authors. So the abnormality in one area can affect the other e.g. hip joint osteoarthritis can cause lumbar sagittal malalignment and backache. Objectives: is to see if there is significant improvement in backache after total hip replacement? And which degree of backache improvement is associated with significant changes in lumbar lordosis? Methods and patients: a prospective open trial study was performed on 30 patients who had severe hip osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain. Total hip replacement was performed to all patients. Backache and lumbar lordosis were measured by visual analogue scale and Cobb’s a

Histopathological and Biochemical Study on the Kidneys of Male Mice Injected Intraperitoneally with Thioacetamide
...Show More Authors

Thioacetamide (TAA) is a thiono-sulfur containing compound with a wide manufacturing application. Humans and animals exposure to TAA may occur in different ways and may cause nephrotoxicity. So, in this study serum creatinine concentration and urea, in addition to renal pathological changes, were examined in mice treated with TAA/P (100 mg/kg B.W). One hundred twenty male albino (BALB/c) mice were used. They were randomly divided into 2 main groups. In the control group 30 mice were fed water only and normal mice pellet. The other TAA-treated group of mice were divided into 3 subgroups as follow: 1st group (G1) was injectsed with TAA for 2 months (injected twice a month), while the 2nd(G2) and 3rd

Influence of Polyphosphates on the Physicochemical Properties of Poly (Vinyl Chloride) after Irradiation with Ultraviolet Light
...Show More Authors

Three new polyphosphates were synthesized in good yields by reacting diethylenetriamine with the appropriate phosphate ester in ethanol under acidic conditions. The polyphosphate structures were determined using FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopies, and their elemental compositions were confirmed by EDX spectroscopy. Polyphosphates were added to poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) at low concentrations to fabricate thin films. The PVC films were irradiated with ultraviolet light for long periods, and the effect of polyphosphates as the photostabilizer was investigated by determining changes in the infrared spectra (intensity of specific functional group peaks), reduction in molecular weight, weight loss, and surface morphology. Minimal changes we

Analysis and Control of PWM Buck-Boost AC Chopper Fed Single-Phase Capacitor Run Induction Motor
...Show More Authors

Single phase capacitor-run induction motors (IMs) are used in various applications such as home appliances and machine tools; they are affected by the sags or swells and any fault that can lead to disturb the supply and make it produce rms voltage below or above the rated motor voltage, which is 220V. A control system is designed to regulate the output voltage of the converter irrespective to the variation of the load and within a specific range of supply voltage variation. The steady-state equivalent circuit of the Buck-Boost chopper type AC voltage regulator, as well as the analysis of this circuit are presented in this paper. Switching device for the regulator is an IGBT Module. The proposed chopper uses pulse width modulation (PWM) c
