A variety of new phenolic Schiff bases derivatives have been synthesized starting from Terephthaladehyde compound, all proposed structures were supported by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, Elemental analysis, some derivatives evaluated by Thermal analysis (TGA).

1,3-0xazepine-4)-diones were  prepared by c.ondensation of N­

cinnamylideneareneamines with maleic anhydride,  phthalic;; anhydride

,and  3-nitrophthalic  anhydride.  The  oxazepjne::; were  reacted  with

primary aromatic  amine  to give the corresponding  1 ,3--diazepine-4,7- diones.

   This research of the thesis includes the preparation and identification of two new tetra dentate Schiff's base ligand .        (H4L1 ) and then binuclear complexes with a group of transition metal ions in addition to cadmium with the general formula. [M2(L1)Cl2(H2O)2] M+2=[Mn,Co,Ni,Cu and Cd]    The prepared complexes and ligands were identified by in pared(FT-IR) spectroscopy ,Ultra violet-visible(UV-visible) spectroscopy and H-NMR spectroscopy of the prepared ligand, also microanalysis (C.H.N) of some of the prepared compounds has been carried out and the melting points, the molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility

The new ligand N-[2-(2-Phenyl hydrazinyl)Phenyl]benzothiazol-2-amine (L) was prepared from the reaction of orthoaminohydrazo benzene with 2-mercaptobenzothiazole in mole ratio (1:1). It was characterized by elemental analysis (CHN), 1H, 13C-NMR, IR and UV-Vis. The complexes of the bivalent ions Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) and Pb(II) have been prepared and characterized. The structural feature were established by elemental analysis (CHN), IR, UV-Vis spectra, conductivity measurements, atomic absorption and magnetic susceptibility. New Fourteen compounds were synthesized in four steps. The first step included synthesis of 2-biphenyl fused ring of imidazo(1,2- a)pyrimidine from the reaction of 2-aminopyrimidine and biphenyl phenacyl bromide . The second step was introduced aldehyde group from the reaction of 2-biphenyl fused rings of imidazo(1,2-a)pyrimidine with POCl3 in presence of DMF and CHCl3. 3-Carbaladehyde derivatives of fused imidazo/pyrimidine was reacted with different aromatic amines to afford new Schiff bases. Condensation of 1,2- dibromo ethane with para hydroxy benzoic acid gave 1,2-Ethane-bis- 4-oxybenzoic [1]. This Compound was converted with the thionyl chloride to give 1,2-Ethane-bis- 4-oxybenzoyl chloride [2].
