During period from September 2012 to August 2013, concentration of total Trihalomethanes (TTHMs) was assessed in drinking water in Al-Dora and Al-Rasheed purification plants. 216 samples were collected from final basins of chlorination in purification plants and from sites that distributed among residential areas fed by the project. TTHMs concentration did not exceed (0.15 ppm) which is the maximum limits according to Iraqi standard specification for drinking water. The highest value was in July (0.12 ppm) and the lowest value was in November (0.01 ppm).

Background: This study aimed to determine the amount of fluoride in commercially available bottled drinking water in Al-Basra city, Iraq Materials and Methods: Eleven brands of bottled drinking water were obtained from supermarkets in Al-Basra city, Iraq. Five samples of 10 ml. were taking from each one of brands and the fluoride was determined by using fluoride ion selective electrode. Results: The highest fluoride concentration was present in BADIOT brand (1.174 mg/L) while the lowest was in Barakat brand (0.038 mg/L). One way ANOVA test showed a highley significant difference among different commercially branded types. This study aimed to detect the present levels and distribution of air pollutants such as SPM, Pb, Cr, Cd , and Ni , in two urban sites within Al- Rusafa side in Baghdad city (Al-Waziriya as industrial site and Al-Andalus square as commercial site). Measurements were carried out from November 2013 until June 2014. SPM, Pb, Cr, Cd , and Ni were measured using Air intake device(Sniffer) . The average minimum concentrations of SPM, Pb, Cr, Cd , and Ni were 588 μg/m3, 2.8 μg/m3, 15.6 μg/m3, 0.1 μg/m3, and 6.3 μg/m3. While the average maximum concentrations were 723 μg/m3 , 3.4 μg/m3 , 21.7 μg/m3 , 0.125 μg/m3 , and 6.8 μg/m3 , respectively.
