Study of Cross Sections for 10 Li 10 Reaction From Cross Sections of Li a,n) Reaction Using the Reciprocity Theory for the Ground State
...Show More Authors

In this study, light elements Li ,10B for (a,n) and (n,a) reactions
as well as o-particle energy from threshold energy to 10 MeV are
used according to the available data of reaction cross sections. The
more recent cross sections data of (a,n) and (n,a) reactions are
reproduced in fine steps 42 Kev for 10B(n,o) Li in the specified
energy range, as well as cross section (o,n) Values were derived from
the published data of (n,a) as a function of a-energy in the same fine
energy steps by using the principle inverse reactions. This calculation
involves only the ground state of Li OB in the reactions 'Li(a,n) B

Introduction
When two charged nuclei overcome their Coulomb repulsion, a
rearrangement of the constituents of the nucleus may occur. Similar
to the rearrangement of atoms in reacting molecules during a chemical
reaction this may result a

Nuclear reactions are usually produced by bombarding a or
nucleus with a nuclear projectile in most cases a nucleon (neutron proton) or a light nucleus such as a deuteron or an majority of nuclear
At low excitation energies 10 MeV),the reactions involve the formation of two nuclei

charge and mass number to the target nucleus. Such reactions are

The Gumbel- Pareto Distribution: Theory and Applications
...Show More Authors

In this paper, for the first time we introduce a new four-parameter model called the Gumbel- Pareto distribution by using the T-X method. We obtain some of its mathematical properties. Some structural properties of the new distribution are studied. The method of maximum likelihood is used for estimating the model parameters. Numerical illustration and an application to a real data set are given to show the flexibility and potentiality of the new model.

Validity of 3D Reconstructed Computed Tomographic Image in Using Craniometrical Measurements of the Skull for Sex Differentiation (An Iraqi Study)
...Show More Authors

Background: The skull offers a high resistance of adverse environmental conditions over time, resulting in the greater stability of the dimorphic features as compared to other skeletal bony pieces. Sex determination of human skeletal considered an initial step in its identification. The present study is undertaken to evaluate the validity of 3D reconstructed computed tomographic images in sex differentiation by using craniometrical measurements at various parts of the skull. Materials and Method: 3D reconstructed computed tomographic scanning of 100 Iraqi subject, (50 males and 50 females) were analyzed with their age range from20-70 years old. Craniometrical linear measurements were located and marked on both side of the 3D skull images.

Study of the Nuclear Structure for Some Target Nuclei Used in the Production of Beta-Emitting Radioactive Isotopes for the Fabrication of Nuclear Batteries
...Show More Authors

The nuclear structure of  40Ar, 112Cd, 133Cs, 151Eu, 154Sm, and 226Ra target nuclei used in nuclear battery technology was investigated. These nuclei are widely used for the radioisotope thermo-electric generator space studies and for betavoltaic battery microelectronic systems. For this purpose, some nuclear static properties were calculated. In particular, the single particle radial nuclear density distribution, the corresponding root mean square radii, neutron skin thicknesses, and binding energies were calculated within the framework of Hartree-Fock approximation with Skyrme interaction. The bremsstrahlung spectra produced by the absorption of beta particles throu

Optimization of Lovastatin Production from A Local Isolate of Aspergillus terreus A50 in Solid State Fermentation by Classical and Statistical Methods
...Show More Authors

Lovastatin is one of the most important compounds that is produced from some filamentous fungi, being employed in the reduction of hypocholesterolemia. The results of screening, after the collection of seventy-three local fungal isolates from different areas, demonstrated that the local isolate Aspergillus terreus A50 was the best isolate for lovastatin production, with a concentration of 12.66 µg/ml, through the submerged fermentation. Lovastatin produced from A. terreus A50 showed antimicrobial activities against a Candida albicans isolate. Solid state fermentation (SSF) was the best system to produce the highest yield of lovastatin by A. terreus A50 as compared to the submerged fermentation (SmF)

Using Microalga Scenedesmus quadricauda for the Improvement of Municipal Wastewater Quality
...Show More Authors

Microalgae culture is an interesting step in wastewater treatment since it provides a tertiary biotreatment while also producing potentially valuable biomass that may be used for a variety of applications. Microalgae cultures, with their ability to utilize inorganic nitrogen and phosphate for growth, provide an elegant solution to tertiary and quaternary treatments. Scenedesmus quadricauda culture was employed with three different doses, 2g/l, 1g/l, and 0.2g/l, to investigate the impacts of microalgae in wastewater. Standard procedures were used to measure samples for physicochemical parameters such as pH, EC, PO4, NO3, NO2, NH4 and BOD5 every third day for

Spectral Study of Pt (II), Cr (II) Polymeric Complexes of the Ligand N- Crotonyl -2- Hydroxy-Phenylazomethine
...Show More Authors

The polymeric complexes were obtained from the reaction of polymeric Schiff base.N-crotonyl-2-hydroxyphenylazomethine (HL), with divalent metals Pt (II), Cr (II). The modes of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determine through spectroscopic methods and compared with that reported from analogous monomeric ligand. This study revealed square planer geometry around the metal center for [Pt(L)Cl] and distorted octahedral geometry for Cr complex [Cr(L)Cl(H2O)2].

Parametric Study Of The Optimum Wing - Canard Configuration For The Swept Forward Fighter
...Show More Authors

The aerodynamic characteristics of the forward swept wing aircraft have been studied theoretically and an experimentally investigation for the wake field generated by this configuration have been carried out. Low order panel method with the Dirichlet boundary condition have been used to solve the case of the steady, inviscid and compressible flow. Two different panel method techniques have been employed: the source-doublet and the doublet method. The thickness for the various components was considered in the study. Prandtl-Glauert similarity rule has been used to account for the compressibility effects. Experimentally, a model was manufactured from wood with body length (290mm) and main wing span was (204mm). The primary objective of th

Study the Effect of Cutting Conditions for turning process on the Machined Surface
...Show More Authors

Surfaces quality is one of the most specified customer requirements for machine parts. The major indication of surfaces quality on machined parts is surface roughness. The research aim is to study the cutting conditions and their effects on the surface roughness. This paper utilizes regression models to predict surface roughness over the machining time for variety of cutting conditions in turning. In the experimental part for turning, different types of materials (Aluminum alloy, Copper alloy, and Gray cast iron) were considered with different cutting speed ( ) and feed rate ( ). A mathematical Model depending on statistical-mathematical method between surface roughness (Rz ) and cutting condition ( , ) were derived, for the three materials

Study the Effect of Forming Media on the Hydroforming Process for Copper Tube
...Show More Authors

To observe the effect of media of the internal pressure on the equivalent stress distribution in the tube, an experimental study is done by constructing a testing rig to apply the hydraulic pressure and three dies are manufactured with different bulging configurations (square, cosine, and conical). In the other part, ANSYS APDL is generated to analyze the bulging process with hydraulic and rubber (natural and industrial) media. It was found that when the media is a rubber, the stress is decreased about 9.068% in case of cosine die and 5.4439% in case of conical die and 2.8544% in case of square die. So, it can be concluded that the internal pressure in the rubber media is much better than in hydraulic media. Also, the force needed for fo
