However, of the known pro-inflammatory cytokines, only elevated plasma levels of interleukin-6(IL-6) have been linked to Unstable Angina. We sought to examine the plasma levels of other major proinflammatory cytokines in similar clinical settings patients with unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction and the relationship extent between them.       The complexes of Schiff base (6-[Hydroxy - benzylidene)-amino]-pyrimidine-2,4-diol ) (L) with Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) were prepared. The Schiff base and complexes have been characterized by FT-IR, ¹H-NMR, UV-Vis, LC-mass spectra, magnetic moment, elemental microanalyses (C.H.N.), chloride containing, atomic absorption and molar conductance.

The Schiff base, metal salts and complexes were also screened for their bioactivity such as antibacterial and antifungal.

Background: Gastroenteritis is a common illness in pediatric age group; the causes could be bacterial, fungal or viral infection. Rotavirus is the most common cause of infectious diarrhea in children. Children between 3 months to 2 years old have the most severe symptoms. Rotavirus is extremely easy to catch and is transmitted mainly by the oral- fecal route. For diagnosis; the specimen of choice is the stool which has been collected during the first 3 to 5 days of illness. If collected 8 or more days after onset of symptoms the specimen will rarely contain the virus.
