Determination of pKa and Thermodynamic Data of Some Schiff Bases Derived From 4,6-Dimethyl 2-Amino Pyrimidine

Acid dissociation constants of some Schiff bases derived from 4, 6-dimethyl 2-amino pyrimidine of the type (1) in 50% V/V dioxane-water mixture in 0.003M KCl, at three different temperatures were determined potentiometrically. The thermodynamic energies were calculated and a good linear correlation was obtained between pKa and IR OH. Stretching frequencies.

Generation and Experimental Stress Analysis of Elliptical Gears with Combined Teeth

In this study, generation of elliptical gears with different teeth profiles of crowned involute, double circular arc (DCA), and combined (crowned involute with DCA) has been developed. The resulting mathematical equations have been computerized and feed to CNC end mill machine to manufacture elliptical gear models with different profiles. These models are investigated in plane polariscope to show the resulting stresses under certain load. Comparison of photo-elastic stress results shows that combined elliptical gears with DCA side as a loaded side have a minimum resulting contact stress with a reduction percentage of 40% compare with contact stresses in counterpart elliptical gear of involute profile (which is commonly u

Qualitative and Quantitative Estimation of Total Phenols in Narcissus tazettaL. Bulbs

Narcissus tazetta, a member of the Amaryllidaceae family, is known to be rich in bioactive metabolites such as alkaloids, phenolics and flavonoids, which have been found in nearly every species in this family. N. tazetta cultivated in Iraq, had not previously been studied for its active components; thus, the current study used phytochemical screening and phenolic compounds estimation, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Results showed that the plant alcoholic extract was rich in alkaloids, polyphenols and flavonoids besides tannins, polysaccharides and saponins. Qualitatively; TLC and HPLC chromatogram for total phenolics and flavonoids compounds revealed the presence of Gallic acid (GA), Caffeic acid (CA), Paracumar

Separation of Bovine Serum Albumin Using Chromatographical Column: Parameters and Simulation

A liquid-solid chromatography of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) on (diethylaminoethyl-cellulose) DEAE-cellulose adsorbent is worked experimentally, to study the effect of changing the influent concentration of (0.125, 0.25, 0.5, and 1 mg/ml) at constant volumetric flow rate Q=1ml/min. And the effect of changing the volumetric flow rate (1, 3, 5, and 10 ml/min) at constant influent concentration of Co=0.125mg/ml. By using a glass column of (1.5cm) I.D and (50cm) length, packed with adsorbent of DEAE-cellulose of height (7cm). The influent is introduced in to the column using peristaltic pump and the effluent concentration is investigated using UV-spectrophotometer at 30oC and 280nm wavelength. A spread (steeper) break-through curve is gained

Detection of line shape parameters in normal and abnormal biological tissues

Doppler broadening technique is suggested to monitor the development of tumours. It depends on the sensitivity of positronium (Ps) annihilation parameters to the sub- microstructural changes in biological tissues. This technique uses high resolution HpGe detector to measure the lineshape parameters (S and W) in normal mice's mammary tissues and adenocarcinoma mammary tissues as a function of tumour growth. The results demonstrate that the central parameter (S) decreases and the wing parameter (W) increases as the tumour grow. It is found that the S parameter changes considerably with the distribution of voids which are affected by the tumour development. Therefore the present technique can successfully be employed to monitor the developm

A Stylistic Analysis of Two Selected, English and Arabic, War Poems

War as a human phenomenon, has its own literature. Poetry is a major genre in this literature. This paper is an attempt to investigate and analyse some stylistic features in two selected, English and Arabic, war poems. These poems share the same theme. Both promote the principle of sacrificing one’s own life for the sake of homeland.  This paper limits itself to analyse, thecontent words, tenses, semantic grouping of vocabulary and foregrounding in the two poems. The areas of analysis show great similarities in distributing the general content words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs). In the analysis of the semantic areas of each content word, these poems reveal some similarities and some differences in their frequency rates.

On Soft LC-Spaces and Weak Forms of Soft LC-Spaces

The main purpose of this article is to study the soft LC-spaces as soft spaces in which every soft Lindelöf subset of  is soft closed. Also, we study the weak  forms of soft LC-spaces and we discussed their relationships with soft LC-spaces as well as among themselves.

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy; It’s Complications and Causes of Conversion to Open Cholecystectomy.

Background: The laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the gold standard for treating the symptomatic cholelithiasis. Conversion is sometimes necessary due to finding unexpected pathology, intraoperative complications or unexpected technical errors .

Objectives: The aims of this study were to determine the complications and the predictive factors of conversion in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy for various indications in elective and acute settings in a general hospital in order to reduce the incidence rates of both , complications and  conversion of laparoscopic cholecystectomy to the open technique .

Patients and Methods: This is a prospective study includ

Microfacies Architecture and Stratigraphic Development of the Yamama Formation, Southern Iraq

The Yamama Formation belongs to the late Berriasian-Aptian succession, which was deposited during the Lower Cretaceous period within the main shallow marine depositional environment.

Petrographic study and microfacies analysis enabled the recognition of six main microfacies for three association facies. These are the Semi-restricted, Shallow open marine and Shoal environments. The study succession represents deposition of three third order cycles, these cycles where deposited during successive episodes of relative sea level rises and still stand.

The presence of shoal association facies (oolitic packstone microfaces) between the Sulaiy and Yamama formations refer to continue the deposition during the same stage, and may s

Studying The Optical Properties of CdO and CdO: Bi Thin Films

Cadmium Oxide and Bi doped Cadmium Oxide thin films are prepared by using the chemical spray pyrolysis technique a glass substrate at a temperature of (400?C) with volumetric concentration (2,4)%. The thickness of all prepared films is about (400±20) nm. Transmittance and Absorbance spectra are recorded in the wave length ranged (400-800) nm. The nature of electronic transitions is determined, it is found out that these films have directly allowed transition with an optical energy gap of (2.37( eV for CdO and ) 2.59, 2.62) eV for (2% ,4%) Bi doped CdO respectively. The optical constants have been evaluated before and after doping.

Quasi-inner product spaces of quasi-Sobolev spaces and their completeness

Sequences spaces  , m  ,  p  have called quasi-Sobolev spaces were  introduced   by Jawad . K. Al-Delfi in 2013  [1]. In this  paper , we deal with notion of  quasi-inner product  space  by using concept of  quasi-normed  space which is generalized  to normed space and given a  relationship  between  pre-Hilbert space and a  quasi-inner product space with important  results   and   examples.  Completeness properties in quasi-inner   product space gives  us  concept of  quasi-Hilbert space .  We show  that ,  not  all  quasi-Sobolev spa
