The Effect of Different Thermal Treatments on Corrosion Behavior of the Hydroxyapatite Coated on Ti-6Al-4V Alloy by Electrophoretic Deposition and Dip Coating
...Show More Authors

In this research, the study of thermal treating by laser, plasma glow discharge and tubular furnace on Ti-6Al-4V alloy coated with hydroxyapatite by methods of dip coating and electrophoretic deposition .A group of samples was coated by dip coating and another group was coated by electrophoretic deposition. The first group was treated by pulse laser 10 (mJ) as energy for samples from both coating with uniform distributed pulses on every single sample surface, The second thermal treating was made by plasma glow discharge in a locally made system with argon atmosphere, 600 Volt , and 6 cm distance between the electrodes, The third treating was made by tubular furnace in air atmosphere and 400 °C for 1 hour duration. Then the samples were tested by optical microscope, XRD, SEM, and the corrosion characteristic with open circuit potential (OCP) and polarization curve (Tafel), The results showed that the samples tr eated by tubular furnace were the best where the corrosion rate was reduced to 3.567×10-4 mm/y for the dip coated samples and 7.221×10-4 mm/y for the electrophoretic deposited samples compared with 9.396×10-3mm/y for uncoated sample.

Effect of Ag doping on optical constant and hall effect measurements of SnS thin films
...Show More Authors

In this report Silver doped Tin Sulfide (SnS) thin films with ratio of (0.03) were prepared using thermal evaporation with a vacuum of 4*10-6 mbar on glass with (400) nm thickness and the sample annealing with ( 573K ). The optical constants for the wavelengths in the range (300-900) nm and Hall effect for (SnS and SnS:3% Ag) films are investigated and calculated before and after annealing at 573 K. Transition metal doped SnS thin films the regular absorption 70% in the visible region, the doping level intensification the optical band gap values from 1.5- 2 eV. Silver doped tin sulfide (SnS) its direct optical band gap. Hall Effect results of (SnS and SnS:3% Ag) films show all films were (p-type) electrical conductivity with resistivity of

Evaluation of the Ti6Al4V Alloy Plasma Nitride for Orthopedic Implants: in Vitro Biocompatibility Study in Simulated Body Fluid
...Show More Authors

In view of this work, plasma nitriding was executed on Ti-6Al-4V and the effect of nitriding by using glow discharge with 2 mbar of Ar+N2 gas on corrosion resistance with different nitriding time and studied. The structure properties and the external appearance for alloys were performed with x-ray diffraction and optical microscopic. The investigation of XRD indicates the Ti alloys are polycrystalline with a cubic type (bcc). When the external appearance of the surface indicates was of β+α structure which have been better technical properties on biomedical application. The biocompatibility investigation of nitride alloys in vitro medium containing human body fluid: we showed a layer of hydroxyapatite HAP which might

Enhancement of corrosion protection of metal carbon steel C45 and stainless steel 316 by using inhibitor (Schiff base) in sea water
...Show More Authors

This research has presented a solution to the problem faced by alloys: the corrosion problem, by reducing corrosion and enhancing protection by using an inhibitor (Schiff base). The inhibitor (Schiff base) was synthesized by reacting of the substrates materials (4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde and 4-aminoantipyrine). It was diagnosed by infrared technology IR, where the IR spectrum and through the visible beams proved that the Schiff base was well formed and with high purity. The corrosion behavior of carbon steel and stainless steel in a saline medium (artificial seawater 3.5%NaCl) before and after using the inhibitor at four temperatures: 20, 30, 40, and 50 C° was studied by using thr

Study on the effect of methotraxate drug on Retinol-Binding Protein 4 (RBP4), nesfatin and some trace elements in Iraqi male patients with rheumatoid arthritis
...Show More Authors

Methotrexate (MTX) is one of the most effective medications to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Aserum of 60 Iraqi male patients suffering from RA as (G1) was newly diagnosis and the same patient in G1 after taking MTX as G2 and 40 Iraqi male healthy control as G3. Nesfatin-1 (Nf-1) is belong to the adipokine family withpleiotropic effect. Nf-1 has been found in different tissues, including stomach, pancreas, bone cells, cartilage and heart. Retinol binding protein (RBP4) was known as transpoter of retinol from its storage sites in the liver to the extrahepatic tissues. Moreover, RBP4 acts as adipokine and contributes in the pathophsyology of prototypic inflammatory disease, rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The results showed a significant increas

Study of Optical Properties of CdS Films Prepared by Thermal Evaporation in Vacuum
...Show More Authors

CdS films were prepared by thermal evaporation at pressure (10-6torr) of 1μm thickness onto glass substrate by using (Mo) boat. The optical properties of CdS films, absorbance, transmittance and reflectance were studied in wavelength range of (300-900)nm. The refractive index, extinction coefficient, and absorption coefficient were also studied. It's found that CdS films have allowed direct and forbidden transition with energy gap 2.4eV and 2.25eV respectively and it also has high absorption coefficient (α >104cm-1).

Long-term use of sulfonylureas including chlorpropamide, is known to potentiate the antidiuretic action of arginine vasopressin (AVP), predisposing to hyponatremia. The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of long term use of glibenclamide on serum and urinary levels of sodium and potassium in Type 2 DM patients in Iraqi DM centers. Ninety eight patients with Type 2 DM who were maintained on different doses of glibenclamide for at least 1 year, attending the centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Al-Rusafa, Baghdad, were enrolled in the study, in addition to 15 normal healthy subjects. Patients were allocated into three groups according to the dose of glibenc
