Metal (II) Complexes with Tridentate N, N,O Ligand: Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Studies

 The preparation of some new coordination compounds for nikel (II), manganese (II), copper (II), cobalt (II)and mercury (II), with ligand obtained from Benzoinand2-amino pyridine.The ligand[6-(2-hydroxy-1,2-diphenylethylideneamino)pyridin-3-ylium)](L) was made from reactin ethanol with metal salts in (1:1)(metal : ligand)ratio.[MLCl] was the inclusive formula of the complexes where M= Mn(II),Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II) and Hg(II). Metal analysis by electronic spectra, atomic absorption ,infrared spectra, 1H&13C-NMR(only ligand)spectral studies, magnetic moment and molar conductance measurements used to describe the compounds.The determinations indicated that the ligand coordinates with the metal (II) ion in neutral tridentate manner through the azomethine nitrogen atom, nitrogen atom for pyridine and oxygen atom of the benzoin, all the studies reveal coordination four for the metals in all the complexes. Tetrahedral and square planar structures were suggested for metal complexes.

Potentiometric Determination of Mebeverine Hydrochloride Using Imprinted Molecular Polymer in PVC Matrix Membrane

Four molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) membranes for Mebeverine.HCl (MBV.HCl) were prepared based on PVC matrix. The imprinted polymers were prepared by polymerization of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propane sulphonic acid (AMPS) as monomer, pentaerythritoltriacrylate (PETRA) as a cross linker ,benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as an initiator and mebeverine as a template. Four different types of plasticizers of different viscosities were used and the electrodes were fully characterized in terms of plasticizer type, response time, lifetime, pH and detection limit.

The levels of lead (pb), copper (cu), cobalt (co) and cadmium (cd) were determined in different kinds of milk and the health risks were evaluated. The mean levels were 0.73±0.21, 0.06±0.01, 0.12±0.01 and 0.14±0.01 ppm for these metals respectively. The levels of pb and cu were found to be insignificant differences (p<0.05), whereas the levels of co and cd, were no significant differences (p>0.05). The dry and liquid kinds of milk were different significantly (p<0.05), whereas the original, was no significant differences (p>0.05). The values for all metals were more than one. The metals pb and cd were detected at highest concentrations in most dry and liquid milk samples.
