The present research includes the effect of different concentrations of NaCl on some biological aspects (longevity, growth and molting) of Acanthocyclops bicuspidatus (Copepoda; Cyclopoida). The results showed a decrease of longevity with the increase of salt concentrations. The lowest mean of male′s longevity was 6.8 day in the 2ppt concen. compared with the control treatment 34.2 day, The lowest mean of female′s longevity was 5.1 day in the 2ppt concen. compared with the control treatment 30.1 day. The mean growth for males was lower than the mean growth of females. In males the lowest mean was 0.33mm in the 2ppt concen. compared with the control treatment 0.57mm, while in females was 0.36mm in the 1ppt and 2ppt concen. compared with the control treatment 0.62mm. The mean number of molts decreased gradually with increasing concentrations. It reached 1 molt/male in the 2ppt concen. compared with the control treatment 5.7 molt/male, while in females was 1.6 molt/female in the 1.5ppt concen. and no molts in the 2ppt concen. compared with the control treatment 4.9 molt/female.

The effect of three high temperatures for five exposure periods on the developments of larvae, pupae and adults of Trogoderma granarium (Everts) and their biological performance were investigated. The results revealed that the percent of mortality was increased as the temperature and the exposure period increased, e. g. exposing last instar larvae to 45°C for 6 hrs caused 100% death of this stage, while exposing adults (1-3) days old to the same temperature and exposure time resulted in that these adults did not able to survive more than 24 hrs.; in addition, the results showed that the ability of reproduction of adults was depended on the temperature, duration of exposure and the sex.
This research aims to modify the components of stainless steel alloy by the method of surface engineering through the single diffusion coating technique in order to obtain new alloys with high efficiency in resisting harsh environmental conditions. PVC/Kaolinite composites were prepared by the melt intercalation method. Mechanical properties, thermal properties, flammability and water absorption percentage of prepared samples were tested. Mechanical characteristic such as tensile strength, elongation at break; hardness and impact strength (charpy type) were measured for all samples. It was found that the tensile strength and elongation at break of PVC composites decreased with increasing kaolinite loading.
