The Corrosion Behavior of Different Gauges of Stainless Steel Wire Use in Removable Partial Denture and Orthodontics Appliances
...Show More Authors

Wires are commonly used for the construction of orthodontic appliances and occasionally as wrought clasps and rests on partial dentures.           The corrosion resistance is the most important properties of dental alloy. Corrosion process reported to cause a numerous adverse effects on both living tissue and restoration .The conditions in the mouth are very suitable for the occurrence of corrosion. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the corrosion behavior of different gauges of stainless steel wire in artificial saliva .Four gauges of dental stainless steel wire used in orthodontic and removable partial denture were used in this study 0.6mm.,0.7mm.,0 .8mm.&1.0mm.).The specimens were divided according to gauge in  to four groups(A,B,C,&D ) ,ten specimens in each group .Each wire was cut by using wire cutter to get wire with (1cm) in length .Artificial saliva of Fusayama Meyer type was used as the testing solution .Sensitive electronic balance was used to weight the sample before immersion in solution and recording the results. This this represents the first weight(W1).Each specimen was put inside a test tube , and held using dental floss in a way that the specimen was fully immersed in the solution from all sides . The specimens then were put inside an incubator ,which was adjusted at 37±2 and left for 14 days .At the end of immersion period ; the specimens were removed from the solution and then allowed to dry and were balanced then the results were recorded .This represents the second weight (W2) .After obtaining the (W1)&(W2) the corrosion rate was calculated .        The results before and after immersion showed that the 0.6 mm.& 0.7mm stainless steel wire gave the highest and more corrosion resistance value than 0.8mm&1.0mm.stainless steel wire .      The result showed there is a statistical significance between (W1&W2) of 0.8mm stainless steel wire and highly significant between (W1&W2) of 1.0mm. stainless steel wire .     The comparison of the results after calculating results in corrosion rate formula showed that the 1.0mm stainless steel wire more corrosion resistance followed by 0.8mm wire ,from 0.6mm& 0.7 mm wire .

The grammar structure transforms from its fundamental field to another field that takes new dimensions, and is used in another way in speech that differs from the first one, because the formula basis of the name(Faael) in speech is a (distorted characteristic), and the distorted characteristic indicates the stability and the necessity of the characterized. as this characteristic has changed from its use as a distorted characteristic which was established by the elders. to a use that differs from the first and cannot be overlooked to achieve a new purpose, to be used as plural

The Effect of Temperature in Vertical Migration Behavior of Three Species Zooplankton
...Show More Authors

The present study included  the impact of the follow-up variation in the temperature of aqueous medium in the vertical migration behavior of different groups of Zooplankton, consisted species Cyclops vernalis, Daphnia magna, Diaptomus dilopatus, that have been grown in controlled in terms of light and pH laboratory conditions, so choosing temperature of respectively 16,20,24,28, and 32 ËšC. The result showed a clear change in the migration behavior of testing planktonic species, it was a negative relationship between temperatures arises and individual of D. magna in the water column. While being appositive relationship with individual of C. vernalis and the same with D. dilopatus. Also, the result revealed a different impact

The Leaching Behavior of Zinc Oxide in Medical Waste of Dental Clinics
...Show More Authors

Zinc Oxide is an indispensable substance in the field of dental treatment. It is used daily and intensively in all governmental and private dental clinics, leading to the disposal of very high concentrations of zinc with waste and eventually in landfill sites as a final destination for solid waste removal. This indicates the urgent need to investigate its behavior upon disposal due to the surrounding conditions. Approximately 4195 g of mixed dental waste samples were collected from (17) healthcare centers in Baghdad Al-Karkh. The leaching behavior of ZnO powder was investigated through batch reactors using makeup dental solid waste samples. The ZnO leaching was tested with 3 conditions; acidic, alkaline, and Ionic Streng

Rotating cylinder electrode (RCE) is used . in weight loss technique , the salinity is 200000 p.p.m, temperatures are (30,5060,7080Co) . the velocity of (RCE) are (500,1500,3000 r.p.m). the water cut (30% , 50%). The corrosion rate of carbon steel increase with increasing rotating cylinder velocity. In single phase flow, an increase im rotational velocity from 500 to 1500 r.p.m, the corrosion rate increase from 6.88258 mm/y to 10.11563 mm/y respectively.

In multiphase flow, an increase in (RCE) from 500 to 1500 r.p.m leads to increase in corrosion rate from 0.786153 to 0.910327 mm/y respectively. Increasing brine concentration leads to increase in corrosion rate at water cut 30%.

Reducing of Corrosion Rate in Boiler Tubes by Using Oxygen Scavengers
...Show More Authors

The corrosion behavior of carbon steel at different temperatures 100,120,140 and 160 Cͦ under different pressures 7,10 and 13 bar in pure distilled water and after adding three types of oxygen scavengers Hydroquinone, Ascorbic acid and Monoethanolamine in different concentrations 40,60 and 80 ppm has been investigated using weight loss method. The carbon steel specimens were immersed in water containing 8.2 ppm dissolved oxygen (DO) by using autoclave. It was found that corrosion behavior of carbon steel was greatly influenced by temperature with high pressure. The corrosion rate decreases, when adding any one of oxygen scavengers. The best results were obtained at a concentration of 80 ppm of each scavenger. It was observed that

Corrosion Inhibition of Aluminium in Acidic Medium using Amino Acid (Methionine)
...Show More Authors

Corrosion behavior of aluminium in 0.6 mol. dm-3 NaCl solution in acidic medium 0.7 was investigated in the absence and presence of different concentrations of amino acid, methionine, as environmentally – friendly corrosion inhibitor over temperature range (293-308)K. The investigation involved electrochemical polarization method using potentiostatic technique and optical microscopy, the inhibition efficiency increased with an increase in inhibitor concentration but decreased with increase in temperature. Results showed that the inhibition occurs through adsorption of the inhibitor molecules on the metal surface and it was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Some thermodynamic parameters ∆. and activation ener

Effect of current intensity on structural properties of cupper iodine nanoparticles produced by exploding Cu wire
...Show More Authors

Exploding wire Technique is a way for production metal and its compound nanoparticle that is capable of production of bulk amount at low cost semiconductor. In this work a copper iodine nanoparticles were fabricate by exploding copper wires with different currents in iodine solution. The produced samples were examined by XRD, FTIR, SEM and TEM to characterize their properties. The XRD proved the Nano-size for producer. The crystalline size increases with increasing current. FTIR measurements show a peaks located at 638.92 for Cu-I stretch bond indicate on formation of copper iodide compound and the peaks intensities increase with increasing current. The SEM and TEM measurements show that the thin films have nanostructures.
