L-Phenylalanine amino acid was condensed with 2-hydroxybezaldehyde to give the Schiff base sodium 2-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)-3-phenylpropanoate, which was used as a precursor [NaHL]. The precursor was reacted with 1,2-dichloroethane to give the Schiff base sodium 2,2'-(2,2'-(ethane-1,2diylbis(oxy))bis(2,1-phenylene))bis(methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(azan1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(3-phenyl propanoate), which was used as a ligand [Na2L], in complexation with some metal (II) chloride MCl2, where [M= Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)], to give [M(L)] complexes. The [Na2L] ligand and All complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods, [FTIR, UV-Vis, atomic absorption], melting point, chloride content, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements, as well as the Na2L ligand characterized by 1H NMR. The data, of these studies and measurements were important to suggest an octahedral geometry around Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions. The synthesized ligand, along with its metal complexes, was screened for in vitro antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, and Acinetobacter baumannii. This study showed an effective inhibition of gram- positive bacteria.
This study was conducted to investigate phytoplasma causing a virescence disease on Arabic jasmine Jasminum sambac based on microscopy and molecular approaches. Samples were collected from symptomatic Arabic jasmine plants grown in nurseries in Baghdad-Iraq. Specimens from infected plants were prepared and Dienes stained for light microscopy examination. Phytoplasma were detected in infected plants by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using P1/P7 and SecAfor1/SecArev3 Candidatus Phytoplasma specific primer sets. In this research, the concentration of radon gas has been calculated in the classrooms of schools in Diyala Governorate by using the nuclear track detector (CR-39), which was one of the organic solid-state nuclear detectors (SSNTDs). After calculating the radon gas concentration, the lung cancer cases were calculated. The results showed that the lowest value was found in (Alshumue) school (4.753) people. A novel series of pyrazole derivatives containing imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine D1-D8 moiety has been synthesized. The reaction of 2-aminopyridine with 4-phenylphenacyl bromide and 4-bromophenacyl bromide gave the products A and A1, respectively. These products then reacted with DMF and POCl3 to obtain new aldehyde derivatives B and B1. Background: Animal bite is one of the public health problems all over the world, especially in poor countries. Animal bites have an impact on human health due to rabies disease, which is a viral transmitted disease from animal to human with a high mortality rate.
Objective: To determine the epidemiological characteristics of animal bite cases by person, time, and place.
Method: Descriptive cross sectional study was done by reviewing cases caused by animal bites., Data including the demographic characteristics of age, gender, occupation, site of bite, and attending health institutions searching treatment were all included.
