The denoising of a natural image corrupted by Gaussian noise is a problem in signal or image processing.  Much work has been done in the field of wavelet thresholding but most of it was focused on statistical modeling of wavelet coefficients and the optimal choice of thresholds.  This paper describes a new method for the suppression of noise in image by fusing the stationary wavelet denoising technique with adaptive wiener filter. The effect of using three different interpolation methods (nearest neighbour, linear and non-linear) on a 3D sinogram to restore the missing data due to using angular difference greater than 1° (considered as optimum 3D sinogram) is presented. Two reconstruction methods are adopted in this study, the back-projection method and Fourier slice theorem method, from the results the second reconstruction proven to be a promising reconstruction with the linear interpolation method when the angular difference is less than 20°.

In this paper, image compression technique is presented based on the Zonal transform method. The DCT, Walsh, and Hadamard transform techniques are also implements. These different transforms are applied on SAR images using Different block size. The effects of implementing these different transforms are investigated. The main shortcoming associated with this radar imagery system is the presence of the speckle noise, which affected the compression results.
