Background: Odontogenic cysts are characterized by their sluggish growth and ability to enlarge, primarily affecting the oral and maxillofacial tissues. Timely diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent potentially serious consequences. This research included the preparation of 2-mercaptobenzoxazole (N1) by the reaction of ortho-aminophenol with carbon disulfide in an alcoholic potassium hydroxide solution.
