The use of the Principal components and Partial least squares methods to estimate the parameters of the logistic regression model in the case of linear multiplication problem

Abstract

  The logistic regression model is one of the nonlinear models that aims at obtaining highly efficient capabilities, It also the researcher an idea of the effect of the explanatory variable on the binary response variable.                                                                                                       

The large number of explanatory variables usually used to illustrate the response led to the problem of linear multiplicity between the explanatory variables that make estimating the parameters of the model not very accurate.                                                                                

In this paper, examined methods for estimating the parameters of the logistic regression model in the case of the problem of linear multiplicity These methods are: Principal components of logistic regression method and Partial least square regression method.                                                                                                                                       

The results of the simulation showed that the method (PCLR(3pc’s)) is best for estimating the parameters of the binary logistic regression model response in the case of a problem of linear multiplicity.

"Comparison of Approximate Estimation Methods for Logistics Distribution Teachers"

The goal beyond this Research is to review methods that used to estimate Logistic distribution parameters. An exact estimators method which is the Moment method, compared with other approximate estimators obtained essentially from White approach such as: OLS, Ridge, and Adjusted Ridge as a suggested one to be applied with this distribution. The Results of all those methods are based on Simulation experiment, with different models and variety of  sample sizes. The comparison had been made with respect to two criteria: Mean Square Error (MSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE).

Estimation of the Standard Atmospheric Earth Model Parameters at 86 km Altitude

     Utilizing the Turbo C programming language, the atmospheric earth model is created from sea level to 86 km. This model has been used to determine atmospheric Earth parameters in this study. Analytical derivations of these parameters are made using the balancing forces theory and the hydrostatic equation. The effects of altitude on density, pressure, temperature, gravitational acceleration, sound speed, scale height, and molecular weight are examined. The mass of the atmosphere is equal to about 50% between sea level and 5.5 km. g is equal to 9.65 m/s2 at 50 km altitude, which is 9% lower than 9.8 m/s2 at sea level.
