This paper focuses on choosing a spatial mixture model with implicitly includes the time to represent the relative risks of COVID-19 pandemic using an appropriate model selection criterion. For this purpose, a more recent criterion so-called the widely Akaike information criterion (WAIC) is used which we believe that its use so limitedly in the context of relative risk modelling. The study area is located in the south-eastern part of AL- Anbar province, between latitudes (31˚02ˉ00˭ -33˚03ˉ00˭) north and longitudes (40˚02ˉ00˭ -43˚04ˉ00˭) to the east. The research studied predictive mathematical Model of groundwater within Umm-Er Radhuma Formation and by (44) wells distributed randomly within the boundaries of the study area, all of them fall within the unconfined aquifer. Through the operating of wells on the time of (30) day and taking the operating results of each (5) days, results showed that the drawdown in groundwater levels values ranged from (13) cm after running the model for a period of 5 days and (120) cm after running Model for thirty days. Sequence stratigraphic cycle of Cenomanian-early Turonian is composed of (Ahmadi, Rumaila, and Mishrif) formations, which is bounded at top and base by unconformity surfaces. Heavy metal contamination comprises a great concern in the environment. A magnetic study combined with heavy metal analyses was performed in the Sawa Lake in Al-Muthanna governorate (southern Iraq). Concentrations of selected heavy metals (Cr, Fe, Ni, As and Pb) have been measured and magnetic susceptibility (χ) of sediment samples collected from the lake bottom was calculated.

The results confirmed that a cement plant, which is located less than two kilometers away from the lake has no contamination levels on the lake’s sediments. No enhancement in the magnetic susceptibility was observed. X-ray florescence (XRF) was performed for heavy metal analyses.

Dust storms are among the most important weather phenomena in Middle East. The Shamal dust storms are dominated across Iraq and the whole Middle East, especially in summer. However, frontal type of dust storms is possible in winter and spring. In this research, a comprehensive case study was conducted to a dust storm that occurred on 20 March 2016 from many perspectives: synoptic, satellite imagery, dust concentration analysis, visibility reduction, and aerosol optical depth. The study shows that the dust storm initiated inside Syria and moved eastward with the movement of the front.
