الملخص شاع في الآونة الأخيرة استخدام طائرات الدرون في عمليات المسح والتوثيق الحقلي للمواقع الاثرية، حتى اصبح استخدام الدرون ضرورة أساسية تسبق أي عملية تنقيب اثري، من هذا المنطلق جاءت فكرة البحث لايضاح المبهم وإعطاء الأجوبة المناسبة لكثير من الأسئلة التي تطرح من قبل دارسي ومختصي الاثار، وسلط البحث الضوء على كل مايخص مفهوم الدرون وبدايات استخدامها في علم الاثار، واهم مكوناتها واجزائها الأساسية وخصائصها
