Comparison of classical method and optimization methods for estimating parameters in nonlinear ordinary differential equation

 ABSTRICT:

  This study is concerned with the estimation of constant  and time-varying parameters in non-linear ordinary differential equations, which do not have analytical solutions. The estimation is done in a multi-stage method where constant and time-varying parameters are estimated in a straight sequential way from several stages. In the first stage, the model of the differential equations is converted to a regression model that includes the state variables with their derivatives and then the estimation of the state variables and their derivatives in a penalized splines method and compensating the estimations in the regression model. In the second stage, the pseudo- least squares method was used to estimate the constant parameters. In the third stage, the remaining constant parameters and the time-varying parameters are estimated by using a semi-parametric regression model. This method is compared with the optimization method, which depends on the algorithm of differential evolution algorithm to estimate unknown parameters. The comparison was made using simulations. The results showed that the results were better to the method based on the differential evolution algorithm.

On Solution of Regular Singular Ordinary Boundary Value Problem

 This paper devoted to the analysis of regular singular boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations with a singularity of the different kind , we propose semi - analytic technique using two point osculatory interpolation to construct polynomial solution, and discussion behavior of the solution in the neighborhood of the regular singular points and its numerical approximation. Many examples are presented to demonstrate the applicability and efficiency of the methods. Finally , we discuss behavior of the solution in the neighborhood of the singularity point which appears to perform satisfactorily for singular problems.

Hille and Nehari Type Oscillation Criteria for Conformable Fractional Differential Equations

In this paper, we develop the Hille and Nehari Type criteria for the oscillation of all solutions to the Fractional Differential Equations involving Conformable fractional derivative. Some new oscillatory criteria are obtained by using the Riccati transformations and comparison technique. We show the validity and effectiveness of our results by providing various examples.

Estimating the Reliability Function for Transmuted Pareto Distribution Using Simulation

     In this work, the methods (Moments, Modified Moments, L-Moments, Percentile, Rank Set sampling and Maximum Likelihood) were used to estimate the reliability function and the two parameters of the Transmuted Pareto (TP) distribution. We use simulation to generate the required data from three cases this indicates  sample size , and it replicates  for the real value for parameters, for reliability times values  we take .

Results were compared by using mean square error (MSE), the result appears as follows :

The best methods are Modified Moments, Maximum likelihood and L-Moments in first case, second case and third case respectively.

Estimating Parametersof Gumbel Distribution For Maximum Values By using Simulation

In this research estimated the parameters of Gumbel distribution Type 1 for Maximum values through the use of two estimation methods:- Moments (MoM) and Modification Moments(MM) Method. the Simulation used for comparison between each of the estimation methods to reach the best method to estimate the parameters where the simulation was to generate random data follow Gumbel distributiondepending on three models of the real values of the parameters for different sample sizes with samples of replicate (R=500).The results of the assessment were put in tables prepared for the purpose of comparison, which made depending on the mean squares error (MSE).

Nonlinear optical properties of polymer [PMMA] thin films doped with dye lasing compounds, Rhodamine 6G and Acriflavine in chloroform solvent by using dip coating method
