تعد الرسائل والاطاريح الجامعية النتاج الفكري لكل قسم وتعبر عن اهداف القسم في المضي بالبحث والتقصي وراء العلوم للوصول الى الهدف المنشود وهو حل مشكلات الانسان والعصر، وقسم الجغرافية في كلية التربية للبنات جامعة بغداد جزء من المسيرة العلمية للجامعة لذلك تناولت هذه الدراسة النتاج الفكري منذ فتح الدراسات العليا في القسم (۱۹۹۵) ولغاية نهاية عام ۲۰۱۹ (م) وتناولت الدراسة للكشف عن مجموع أعداد الطلاب الدكتوراه والماج
